Heading up to Vegas in October. The wife loves to play Mississippi Stud. Getting conflicting information on what casinos still have tables with $5 minimum.

Yes, I've checked the site vegasadvantage.com
    THAT WEBSITE IS OUTDATED!!

I called a few of the casinos on the list that showed $5 min tables....just to find out the min is actually $10 or higher.

SO - what I am asking you all is...what (current) Las Vegas casinos have Mississippi Stud with a $5 minimum bet?

    Thanks!

Following this thread as I am going Oct 20-24 and want to know as well. If there is no intel from the board before that, let me know what you see when you go, Lizzie. I am looking to break some of my travel mates into this game and away from the snoozefest they play in Let it Ride.

    Rush,

I will post my findings in this thread for all to see. I've been calling each hotel from the vegasadvantage website, one-by-one. That is how I found out the website is outdated.

    Harrah's - 3 tables, $10 min.
    Caesars - 2 tables, $10-$25 min.
    Bally's - 1 table - $10 min.
Paris.- $10-$25 min. Forgot to ask how many tables they have.

I do not give up easily. My plan is to call each and every casino in LV that claims to have MS Stud tables and ask their minimum bet, and how many MS Stud tables they have on their casino floor.

I was hoping someone on this site may already know these answers so I wouldn't have to go thru all the trouble.

I'll give it a few days for replies before I start calling the casinos again..

I will start to wander around next week and can let you know. I usually play $10 anyway but will definitely mark down if it's a $5

    ddj,

Thanks for the info. Are you stating late May because that's when you were there?

I just got home tonight from 10 days in Vegas and Tim is correct that I play a lot of UTH & some MS Stud. I only play the $5 level and found the following:

Golden Nugget - Wed & Thurs daytime & evening $5
    Orleans - Fri & Sat daytime & evening $5
PH - Sun & Mon during the day $5 this one really surprised me as they had two $5 tables!
NYNY - Tues & Wed daytime was $10
Harrahs - Thurs & Fri daytime was $10
    Flamingo - Fri daytime $10
    Paris - Fri daytime $10

In past trips during the mornings if a higher table is empty, I have asked a pit boss if I can play at $5. I’ve been successful at GN, Flamingo, Harrahs, & Paris so it’s always worth asking.

VegasLizzy - when are you going in October? Good luck & have a great trip!

    Ann

yes. thursday afternoon there was also a 5.00 at Planet Hollywood. the dealer was surprised and said it would be 15 soon. and it was for the rest of the weekend.

harrahs was mostly 10 but flamingo was pretty consistently 5. things change quick and 3 months is a lifetime. good luck.

Was just there all last week and stayed at Paris. On Thursday (9/2), MS was $5 all day! Played a couple of times in the afternoon, and even at 1:30am, it was still $5! They have two MS tables, but only one was open the whole time we were there. They used to have a third MS table in the OohLaLa pit, but that pit has been removed and one of those new stadium electronic table games things has been put there, which just opened up the other day.
On Friday (9/3), the MS table was $10 most of the day, but raised to $15 around midnight, and then to $25 about an hour later. At 3am, it was back down to $10.

Visited the Rio on Tuesday afternoon (8/31) and their one MS was not open, and I was told they weren’t going to be opening it at all that day. FWIW, the monitor showed it was a $5 table.

Walked over to Bally’s a few times last week, and their one MS table was always $10.

Visited Luxor, and their one MS table continues to remain closed. Mandalay Bay and Excalibur don’t even have any MS tables.

    Hope that helps a little.

Okay folks - over the past week I called pretty much ALL of the casinos on the strip that offer MS Stud. I asked to be transferred to the Pit Boss for 'Card Tables, or Card Room'. I got thru to a Pit Boss almost every time.

If you decide to try it yourself, the operator may ask you "which Pit Boss do you want...Card Room or Poker Room?" Do not say Poker Room!...it is a separate Pit Boss.

Pretty much every comment from everyone above is correct. BUT...most of the Pit Boss told me...

Most of the casinos start the MS Stud tables at $5.00, until the tables get busy. Then the min bid is increased to $10 and above. Exceptions being the higher end, fancier casinos (Paris, Cromwell, Aria...etc.) Those casinos start in $10-$15-$25 range.

The Pit Boss that gave me the best advice said - Hit the tables early, and focus on the casinos that have less traffic and have the most MS Stud tables, thus you have a better chance of staying at $5.00 min for a longer period of time.

    Ann-
October 3rd-6th - Driving up from Phoenix for the umpteenth time!

I've been to Las Vegas many, many times (my mom owned a house up on the hills overseeing the strip) - In all my treks to LV to see my mum, I never went to a Blue Man Group concert. Always wanted to see them.
    It's gonna happen this trip!!

I’ll miss you, I’m arriving on the 26th.
The Blue Man Group was lots of fun but don’t sit too close if you are worried about getting wet!
Have a great time & good luck!

I was there a few weeks ago and was in the Golden Nugget quite a few times, even on the weekend, and there always seemed to be a $5 table open. Someone hit a straight flush for 10% of the progressive (or some pay variation of it) while I was waiting to get a seat, so no envy! Just last week in Michigan I was playing stud and someone hit the progressive on the table over, UTH, for a cool $135k...again, no envy for me!!
