I always stay strip center at Flamingo or Bally’s. I get comped suites there is why lol. Anyways. I’ve never check out the North End of the strip.

if gone up to Venetian on 1 side and TI on the other side.

I need to check out Wynn, Resorts World, Sahara and yes Strat and circus circus.

I hear people say it’s not safe to walk up there? Is that really true or if it’s mid day on the strip your fine. I see I can take the Monorail thing from flamingo to Sahara.

It's fine. Stay on the east side until you hit the north end of Encore, then switch over to the west side at Resorts World. The only thing I would avoid are the construction site where Fontainebleau destroys investors' dreams, and the alleged All Net Arena site. Otherwise, the former Frontier site is fenced off and empty.

North of Encore on the east side are a bunch of cheap strip malls and the Peppermill, which are pretty busy, especially Tacos el Gordo.

I've done it quite a few times. It's definitely safe during the day. At night, I'd probably stick with cabs, but it's no more unsafe than any other mostly-uninhabited area in any other major city. It falls under the usual "be smart and use common sense" in Vegas or anywhere else.
    :haha:

It's not the safety so much as the distance that will get you, especially now when it's still hot. People don't realize how far it is to walk from say Venetian to Sahara. It's a haul. You'd be better off monorailing or getting a cab. Why spend large blocks of your Vegas time walking around an area that has little to see, aside from the resorts themselves.

Walked to The STRAT (old Vegas World) many times, usually late at night on a bender on my way to either the Olympic Gardens (now closed) or Talk of the Town (not sure about that place since the pandemic). Found that there's an excellent fast food Mexican place called Tacos Mexico right by the Denny's just past the Strat. I've also done a few drunken nights at Dino's bar, which is down that way. The Jason Stratham movie Wild Card has some scenes at that Denny's and in that neighborhood. Of course, I've always had a stupid streak and at 6-4, 250 I never really worried about the bums or other detritus in the area. But, I totally agree with INABIAL, it's a hike from the popular part of the strip to the Strat and beyond. I used to love to do it on a hot summer night after 10 or 12 Jack and Cokes—LOL.

Last month I walked around 1-2am from Paris to Wynn...I stayed on the East side. I was fine. There's a section around Bally's I thought perhaps it wasn't that smart I was walking by myself at that hour so not sure I'd do it again. No one bothered me though, and I didn't stop. During the day I wouldn't have been concerned at all.

I walked from Wynn to Circus Circus during the day and it was hot. I felt safe though. I second don't walk along the East side where strip stores are N of Encore.

I wouldn't be comfortable going farther N than Circus Circus at night.

It's a lovely walk at night from Venetian to Wynn. There's a waterfall and fountain, landscaping, nice lighting, and fake cricket sounds as you get near the Wynn entrance. You can get to Encore from within Wynn.

How's the walk from Wynn to Resorts World? I haven't been in that area of the strip in years, and I'm well aware that properties are always further apart than they appear!

    Oh man, I feel this.
My first trip to Las Vegas was in 2010 and my wife and I were going to meet a friend of ours at Circus Circus (he lived nearby)
To be fair we had next to no money at the time and had been walking around the strip the whole day.
We wound up at FSM and from the looks of it that kooky clown face wasn't too far of a walk. Boy were we wrong.
By the time we got to the McDonald's the wife asked me if I wanted to take a break, I said no because CC looked like it was RIGHT there, then we got to Slots of Fun and I realized we still hadn't reached our meeting point and it was then that I said F it and took about 10 minutes to sit in front of SOF before "trekking" over to the CC.
The happy ending to the story is that this was the first time my wife and I discovered the sheer enjoyment of an unplanned taxi ride as we opted for a cab instead of walking back to our hotel that night.

On a clear sunny day, the air can act as a lens and make it look like everything's just the next block over. Don't fall for it!

In the spirit of forewarned being forearmed, this is video from the neighborhood behind The Strat.

I've walked several times from Sahara to somewhere else, including Wynn and further south. I've never felt unsafe, but a couple times, alone, late at night, I wondered if it was wise in a couple of areas where RW and Fontainebleau were fenced off for construction.

Also, it's always farther away than you think it is, no matter what "it" is. :wink2:

I've walked it alone in the day and never felt unsafe. It seemed fine at night going from Sahara to the Strat also, but I might be a little more leery of that abandoned casino area at night alone.

Wouldn't recommend walking alone at night from CC to Strat.
Walked through there at night a few years back, was very dark, especially where the big empty lot is. Saw nobody else walking in that area.
    Anything can happen anywhere though.

@AnAmericanTexanInVegas The walk from Wynn to Resorts World wasn't bad. I went about a month ago, and it was just really hot with no shade along the way. I crossed at the mall and walked from that side. I'd be comfortable walking it at night if others were walking it too. I don't remember time, but it wasn't that far. Farther than it looked though! You could also cross over once you get up to Encore.
