back at O’Sheas now (once again peeing). We did really well & had a lot of fun at craps earlier. So we’re back here for now

    enjoy some walking photos

Just had another awesome run at O’Sheas craps. Younger 20 something threw AMAZING. My husband hit 5 repeater at 80 for 1 at $10. I left up $450. Peeing at flamingo again (it’s a great bathroom!!) and going to check out the flamingo minimums!

I feel like every single women’s bathroom is designed by men. Purse hook - directly over the door latch so when it’s older, it comes undone. Purse hooks should be off the door so they’re harder to steal, preferably behind the toilet. Also, a drink ledge would be nice. I would like to put my drink, chip purse, & phone on a flat surface that isn’t the floor.

    (currently peeing at Bally’s)

Okay. Passed through Bally’s at 10:30. Dan considered playing poker at 11. Moved on to Paris. Between Craps with Dan, blackjack alone, I put down $100 & am up over $500. It’s 4:30 in the morning, I left blackjack & thought Dan had already gone to bed. Nope. He was still at craps, up over $1200. You do you babe. Keep going.
So everything I was going to update & dump tonight, will have to wait until tomorrow.

Joe’s prime steak seafood something crab at the forum shops for lunch at 2 tomorrow. Probably update while I’m mainlining coffee at noon!

Love the Flamingo bathroom, it's accessible from both sides of the casino! Makes up for the fact that I'm always finding "residue" on top of the toilet paper holders :haha::haha::haha:

Awesome report so far!!!! Staying at Paris at the end of August (Monday thru Saturday), so interested to hear about the mid-week crowds in the Paris casino, along with the amount of tables open. Did you happen to notice if they had any Mississippi Stud tables open? If so, what minimums?

I can't believe they still have the 100 or Nothing machine at NYNY!! On our first visit in 2008, my wife and I were wandering around the NYNY casino while the friends we were with were doing some shopping. Before I even had a chance to check out the machine, my wife put $20 into the 100 or Nothing machine and hit SPIN. Had I seen what the deal was in time, I would have stopped her from playing. However, she hit 7-7-7 on the first spin!!! 19 spins later, cashed out with $100. To this day, my wife gets these "feelings" when she passes by certain machines, and more often than not, she makes out pretty well.

Looking forward to the rest of your report!!! Have fun!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

    (And Happy Belated Birthday!!)

It's very tasty! Congrats on the craps win! I've never played at Osheas, but it looks fun. That funky field being cut into three is very interesting. I assume the house edge is really high.

Ho boy. Where to start about yesterday? It was fucking fun. We did really well gambling-wise. Usually I do better at craps and Dan does better at blackjack but not yesterday!

Did pretty poorly at Cromwell when we passed through. Just walked through Bally’s, didn’t play any. Had open $15 blackjack but it was either full or a shuffler.

Went over to Paris. We both started at the same craps table, $15 around 12:30a. I did pretty poorly right off the bat. Finally took about $150 over to a blackjack table, there was ONE $15 table and of course it was packed. So I sat down at a $25 table. Actual shoe but still 6-5. Couple newer side bets around. Called Inbetweener or something like that. If the dealers card is between your two cards, you win. And depending on how many numbers apart, higher payout. So if you get a 6 and 9, dealer gets a 7, it wins. I was playing that and TriLux and they were hitting like crazy. My main bet wasn’t, but I kept getting straights and if the dealer’s card is the middle number, they both paid! I finally left the table with over $700. And only because it was almost 5am! Dan was still at craps. I have no idea what he came back with, I was asleep before he got back and he’s still snoring now.

So we’ve all heard they’re turning the Paris Laurel Lounge into a Vanderpumps….it was under construction last night. REALLY LOUD CONSTRUCTION that made the casino rather unpleasant after 3a. The dealer said she was surprised, if they have to do construction, they don’t usually start until 6a. I got a couple photos but so far it’s just demo so nothing too interesting to see.

I’ll make a separate post for STK happy hour. It was pretty amazing and I have photos. We wound up having quite a few drinks yesterday, definitely got our money’s worth from Vegas! I got about 5 hours of sleep, which I’ll pay for tomorrow. But it’s our last day here. Our flight is at 7:30a and I wanted to maximize my remaining time. I can sleep at home!

I saw it at a couple casinos, I can’t remember where else. It does still have the regular field, it’s just additional field bets where you can bet left, right, or center field specifically, with higher payouts

STK Happy Hour was delicious and might be the best deal in Las Vegas. Not the cheapest meal but the best deal. It was such good food for a really good price. And awesome drinks for half off.

Dan started with a Strawberry Cobbler (vodka, strawberry purée and a graham cracker crust), then moved on to a La Pistola (Jack, aperol, amaro, and lemon - I really disliked it), and finished with a Not Your Daddy’s Manhattan on the rocks. I had a Red Rum (rum, guava purée, pineapple juice, and lime), then a Spiced Watermelon (tequila, st germain, watermelon water, lime, and jalapeno), and finished with a gin and tonic (gin…and tonic, duh).

The house bread was really disappointing. Since they just opened at 4 when we got there, I think we got the previous day’s bread. It was rather stale. So fresh, it might be a lot better.

    A6B28D13-C6BA-4C0E-8BAD-D7D0D349E0E9.jpeg

We then got the jalapeño pickled shrimp cocktail and miso glazed seabass. The cocktail was 2 shrimp with cocktail sauce and pickled onions and jalapeños. They were delicious shrimp. The seabass is a little lettuce cup and I could have licked the plate the miso glaze was so good.

Next ordered the lil BRG and fries, crab cake slider, and grilled chimi filet. OMG the burger was so so so good. The truffle flavor on the fries was delicious but not really my style of fries. The crab cake slider was very good but really overshadowed by everything else. Same with the filet. Ordered it medium and it came out medium rare and a little on the lukewarm side. It was very good but I would choose the others over it.

We were sitting by a boisterous group at the bar. It was one of the guy’s birthdays today, I mentioned my birthday was Tuesday. Awesome bartender Stephanie must have overheard because they brought me a birthday dessert!

Overall - AMAZING. I would definitely go back.

Around Cosmo, on the 2nd and 3rd floor, they have repurposed vintage cigarette machines. It’s small pieces of art from artists around the country. Things like earrings, hats, wall art, etc. It was really neat so we got one. The first machine was broken but we found another and chose a wall cushion from Minnesota. I guess I didn’t understand what a wall cushion was… Is this a Minnesota thing?? It’s almost like a cushioned knob for a dresser. Oh well, it was fun. And supports artists.

    Craps But Not Craps?

So I don’t know the formal name, we were calling it Craps But Not. We tried playing it, and it was actually pretty fun but I definitely prefer real craps. The O’Sheas staff said it was just installed Friday and it’s the first table in the world. Woo. It was interesting to learn a completely new game at the same time the dealers were learning it! The pit boss had the rules packet out to reference everything.

It is JUST repeater bets. $5 bets, $10 minimum. Usually in craps that would be a pretty easy way to lose your money but this one did have a surrender option.

If you’re unfamiliar with the repeater side bets in craps - you can bet on a number being thrown multiple times before a 7. And you bet them separately. So you can bet just 1 if you choose. Two 2s have to come up before a 7 to win it and it’s 40 for 1. So a $5 bet would win you $200.

    Two 12s - 40 for 1
    Three 3s - 50 for 1
    three 11s - 50 for 1
    Four 4s - 65 for 1
    four 10s - 65 for 1
    Five 5s - 80 for 1
    Five 9s - 80 for 1
    Six 6s - 90 for 1
    Six 8s - 90 for 1

It’s really my favorite side bet. The payouts might be different property to property. Flamingo had repeaters at their crapsless table.

The difference in this one is the surrender. If at least half of the numbers hit, you can surrender and take a lower payout. The payouts were all over the place and I didn’t get a clear picture of the payout chart. But if at least three 6s had been rolled, you could surrender for less than the normal 90 for 1 but still make money. The pay out was more if you waited and surrendered after four 6s, five 6s, etc.

To roll the dice, there was a metal Yahtzee type cup. You shake it, put it down in your bet circle and the dealer lifts the top off. You’re not allowed to touch the dice. It was unique. The metal cup is surprisingly heavy and I have tiny hands, so shaking it was a little difficult. And you’re only allowed to use one hand, just like normal craps. Other normal craps rules apply - such as if you have money on 11 and it hasn’t hit yet, you can move it or take it down. If at least 1 number on your bet has hit, you’re locked in. Also, can’t bet on a number once it’s been rolled.

Overall, it was fun to learn a new game. There was a younger guy at the table learning at the same time we were. I’d play it again if I was up or craps was full.

Kinda reminds me of way back when Free Bet Blackjack started with 1 table at the Golden Nugget, and I was learning to play as the dealers were learning to deal it. Don't know if this craps game will take off like Free Bet, but who knows!

We were walking by The Linq to Joes & just a SUDDEN rush of rain. It’s so fucking windy. Everyone on the sidewalk RAN to the casino. Poor Elmo got turned away though :(

have 20 minutes to get to Joes. Hopefully it abates soon!

This sounds like a good time, but man - house edge ranging from 18-21% is tough to swallow.
