This is split off from the Main Street Stations Opening? Thread.

I've heard September from a supervisor.

As I explained in my post in the original thread here - https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?posts/2249678/

Ty is a reliable source for downtown information, as is Joe. Both have said that they are hearing September and I'm hearing that from other sources downtown too, as well as on some semi-reliable social media accounts. Does that mean it's a sure thing? Hardly, but it's enough that I'm fine with labeling this a rumor and allowing people to discuss/debate it.

This is our thread to speculate on the possibility for a September reopening date. Let's post supporting evidence, including information as we get it from the Hawaiian market and junket flights from HI to Vegas.

    Thanks for your patience.

No speculation from here as I have absolutely no insider info. I do, however, have high hopes!

I’ll pipe in here. My host responding to an email on Wednesday said it is her understanding that they are shooting for September. But, I have heard this before.
I hope it’s true, I want to see the friends I have made over the last 25 years get back to work and like many others, I miss the Boar’s Head Bar

I can only hope they can get it going in time for overflow room capacity coinciding with the late Sept Golden Arm dates (23-27),
do we need a separate thread to speculate how Boyd can ruin the 20xodds on craps tables/scratchers?

whenever/if it happens we should just do rolling meetups at BHB, I imagine errybody will hit it.

Boy, admittedly my light bulbs don't shine as bright as they once did but the 'popularity' of MSS continues to befuddle me. You can check multiple boards on this site over the months/years(?) , and we've bashed Boyd left and right (BConnected changes prompted hundreds of responses, now no buffets, et.al) and there is a segment that seems to love the place, and can't wait for it to reopen!!!
And please, this is not a knock on anyone.
Yes, we all want to see all casinos reopen and get people back to work.
But I am always reminded of the best advice I ever had re. vegas - don't become wedded to one property/casino corp. Always have a backup plan, or don't be afraid to strike out and try other places.
(from someone who remembers when Boyd used to mail out offers for 'Gold Cards')

You don't have to like the corporation to like the property. In fact, many who've been disappointed by boyd may have first given it a shot because they like their atmosphere.

Also, really, almost all the players clubs get **** on, because changes are seldom good.

But as of its closing, MSS still had a lot of good VP, popular spots like 777, the buffet (rip) and the VP bars, the ever popular scratchers, and a different atmosphere than most downtown spots. Not to mention that having Boyd reopen all their room inventory ought to do good things for prices.

It'll be back, it's just a matter of when it's practical for Boyd. Pretty sure they want it open yesterday!

Keep in mind that it wont be immune to the market realities (or temptations) facing every other casino manager in town.

Hoping it does open. I am not a DT person, but I am currently booked at Fremont in late September for a bowling tournament. Fremont will meet my needs, but I would rather check out MSS.

That's why these boards are so important! We learned that at some point, the Fremont added bowling lanes... can't wait to try 'em out!

I love breakfast at MSS. Very relaxing in a bright and airy atmosphere. Coffee, orange juice, have some fruit, bacon, and eggs.

A great place to chill and get ready for another great day.

@Electroguy563 I could not have said it better myself. It’s just a great place to start the day.

Additionally where else can you get eggs/omelette cooked to order in addition to rest of the food for like $9.99 per person. I generally dislike buffets but have always enjoyed MSS version. Hoping it returns, even if cost has to increase a bit.

MSS reopening in September 2021 might be a strong possibility. I noticed comp room offers for September and October in my bConnected account. Also, they are recruiting for maintenance personnel and an assistant marketing person all posted today and the past 2 weeks.

Was hoping they'd open in time for Life Is Beautiful weekend---Fri/Sat at CAL are sold out and Sunday (when I login to my account) is $924 (not a typo)--was hoping MMS would open up in time for a comp or at least a cheaper room)
