Just came across this and found a few good ones. (and a few that are questionable).

This of course would apply to any hotels.

    Hotel Hacks

I really like the one about holding curtains closed. Big problem sometimes.

This article was pretty fun to read.
I, too, never thought about using the hanger to keep curtains closed. So simple.
My favorite has to be the dryer sheet in the suitcase.
I was pretty proud of myself when I figured out the butter-warming hack on my own at my office last year, lol.

Dryer sheets are good for moist or somewhat odorous shoes as well. In the closet or suitcase.
You use (we use) the dryer several times a week so we have more than enough since not all shies actually smell. Sorta.

the towel at the foot of the door is good for something else too :jester::cowboy:

and the plastic off the cups usually fits the remote so you can cover the remote with it :hmmm:

Like the dryer sheet in the luggage. I will carry a gallon glad bag folded up in my pocket for ice on the way back to my room when in Vegas. Maybe that was posted, did not make it to the bottom of the list.

i carry a glad trash bag for dirty clothes, clothes pins and chip bag clips to hang stuff and close those certain curtains
I always throw in 4 of each size ziploc bags.. you never know.
I always make a pit stop at the walmart off the strip for the type of weather that week.. hot/cold essentials

IF i can't make a walmart run , i do amazon food delivery for snacks altough some hotels are demanding you pick up at front desk they won't let them up to the room so ask before you do this .

I carry a small slingbag/backpack to carry the essentials on those long walks water, towel, and
especially now wet wipes/anti bacterial wipe packs.. I stock up at rosas cafe they always have a huge box of them at the to go orders table.

I wonder if any of those cleaning items have changed due to the pandemic (comforter, remote, etc). Many have "upped" the cleaning steps, but i wonder for how much longer...

Using the plastic bag from the in-room cup to cover the tv remote...nice....the following aren't necessarily hacks, but for security, I like to plug the door peep hole with a wad of tissue paper....and at the end of the day, I'll tilt the luggage rack against the door, so if the door is opened, the rack will tip over and serve as an alarm...

Great one I got from here was disabling thermostat limits at CET and a lot of other hotels that use Honeywell. Hold display button and press off button and then up button. The screen will read LED.
This allows you to lower the min temperature.

was able to at least set my ac to 62 degrees vs 67 at CP a few weeks ago for when I first got to room to cool it down quicker.

Yes, we have used the plastic wraps from cups as backup baggies more than once. I try to keep some ziplock bags in our carryon, but forget to replace them

Oh boy! I thought I was the only one who did the tissue wad thing!!! I guess I bought into the concept from the Seinfeld episode, "Reverse Peephole"!!!

The luggage rack is a good one too! I usually bring a couple large rubber slanted doorstops.

Not sure if this is a hack or not....but after checking in, first time I leave the room, I take a pic of the room # outside my door. That way it's on my phone, as a fallback in case I happen to forget my room #. Especially helpful after an evening of adult beverages :D. Done this for years at every hotel I stay in. but particularly helpful in when in Vegas.

He lost me when he said something to the effect of "haven't we all had the tops of our shampoo bottles come off" then put the plastic on top to stop that from happening. Um, no that has never happened to me.

The other one was when he referred to traveling with a suit. This isn't 1972, who travels with a suit?

To be fair, I have rarely ever traveled with "a" suit. I usually travel with about 3 suits on average, and 1 or 0 jeans. Have never experienced this mysterious detaching shampoo bottle cap though.

I’ve never had the shampoo issue but I do but all liquids, gels, creams, and lotions in ziplock bags. I even get padded bags if I’m bringing a big ass bottle of circoc coconut out with us. Since the liquor store opened at the airport, I don’t tend to do this anymore, but if you’re a wine drinker and want your special bottle, they work great!
