Also, I probably look like the oddest person in the casino. Sitting in the high limit, listening to music on my headphones, nodding along and mumbling lyrics to seventies and eighties songs. Hopefully people think I am just eccentric and not deranged

Wait, just reached a nineties song too. Does she gather rain? I am hoping this song answers the question ....

thank you for the education on Baccarat. I always see VMB Bacc players refer to this and I never knew what it was, since I’ve never played. But seeing as it’s such a popular game, I think I may need to give it a try next trip.

If you’re not a tables player but like to dabble, it’s a great game for that. The house edge is low, all you need to decide is which side to bet (unlike all the rules and wagers in craps and BJ), and it’s good for bankroll control. There are no double downs and splits like BJ

I think I have told it before, but if not here goes

It was a few years ago at Aria. In the middle of the trip, I am playing one morning, hopping from table to table. For those unfamiliar with Aria, there are two high limit areas: club prive (where the brown glass is near the main cage) and the baccarat room (down the hall next to the brown glass). So I am jumping back and forth between tables in both rooms. I walk up to the first bac table I. The room and reach into my pocket for my chips. I pull them out and realize a big cranberry bac chip is missing! I slam my hand against my pants and don’t feel anymore chips in there. So I start to panic. I check the floor. I didn’t drop it. I rush back to club prive and check the floor around the table I just left. Nothing. I rush back toward the bac room, scanning the floor along the way. Still nothing. I ask the dealers if they saw me drop anything. They hadn’t. I empty my pocket again. I pull out all my chips and my cash folded over I a rubber band. Still no 25k chip. Then, I see it poking out from the cash. It had become wedged between the cash in my pocket! As soon as I got home, my partner insisted I get something to carry around my chips. I had an old felt dice bag in my closet and now I use it every casino trip!

Also, I played some quick mini bac in an effort to get to a round number profit. It worked! Up 30k and probably calling it quits

Blackjack is my first love but in Vegas I generally split time between that and slots. That being said, I do like to up my wagers playing blackjack but sometimes those times when I’ve gone 4-5 times avg bet and then have splits and doubles end up really killing my sessions. Not having splits and doubles may help me manage my bankroll better and get longer sessions while still satisfying my desire to press with larger bets occasionally if that makes sense, so yes, I will definitely be trying it.

Bought some more milkbar to take home. Then I thought about grabbing some secret izza to take back to my room for later. But the line was a mile long so forget that. Will probaby seek food again in a couple hours when I head back down to cash out

Man I could use a Sicilian right now from Secret Pizza... but good call to shut it down if you’re up big like that. Appreciate all the details so we can live vicariously through you!

OK, time for the final update of the Vegas portion of this report. Sneak preview, it ends with perhaps the weirdest experience I have ever had in a Vegas casino.

I decided to go ahead and get some food before cashing out. The line for Secret Pizza was still ridiculous, so I opted for carryout from Holsteins. that was a mistake. It was crazy slow (could have just waited for pizza) and the food quality there has reached its nadir. Had a bad veggie burger, average fries, and an average milkshake. Might be last time at Holsteins for a while.

After I ate, I went downstairs again to cash out. my NBA bets were two ins and two losses today. Still up on those bets for the trip. The sportsbook was packed, but not a single person was making or cashing tickets. So I got in and out really fast. Then it was time to pay my markers and cash my winnings.

Normally, I do that in the Talon room. But since I was already on the first floor, I just went to the high limit. The cage in the high limit room is in the far right corner when you walk in. So I went over there. Nobody in line. So i dump out my chips, hand the attendant the 25k chip to pay my makers and tell him i want to cash the rest. He says he will be right back with my markers and he disappears into the back.

At that point while waiting, I notice out of the corner of my eye that a very animated guy wearing a head to toe purple camo outfit walks into the high limit room with a security guard. e looks very pissed about something and I was fairly certain he was pointing at me  I have never seen this guy in my life. Quickly, a couple floor supervisors walk over to him and he is really pissed, pointing in their faces and saying something about how he was mistreated. So I then assumed he was pointing at one of them and not me. He keeps being angry for a couple more minutes, pointing in the face of everyone near him until the security guard calmly walks him out of the room.

The cashier then returns wit my markers and cash (and as a bonus, a very nice money bag he gave me because he couldn't find an envelope for me to carry my cash back to my room). So i am getting ready to leave and I walk over to to the floor supervisors who had gotten into it with camo dude. i jokingly say I have no idea what he was upset about, but for a moment I thought he was pointing at me. One of the supervisors nods his head and says he was pointing at you!:eek::eek: What??? They told me he was drunk and had slipped past some security and was trying to claim he came in the room with me. They knew I had never met the guy. Still, it felt very strange!

So back in the room. Going to start packing soon. Leaving for the airport at 630. My partner tells me she and the little fanatic have planned a lunch for when i return tomorrow. Ecxcellent gambling trip, but I am ready to be home
