Let's pretend it's about 3 AM PST and I'm going to bed a loser (it happened....in fact, I just described my entire existence).

I spend a whole three minutes making these things, so I may as well get some use out of it.

It wasn't a blood bath last night, but I couldn't win shit out there. I didn't walk away from a single table or machine ahead. -$850 overall ($200 via the complete and total ineptitude of the New Jersey Nets and Portland Landcruisers).

This morn I went down to grab a large latte, threw $80 into a $1 slot that has the 7's, cherries and fancy 'Jackpot' logos spinning around? $5 / spin and it took 18 button-pushes for that to go into Denny Stevens pocket (whatever his name is). I did win $10 on the first spin and then it was very Hindenburg-esque.

    "Oh the humanity!"

So last night I did go down to check out the pool and I had a relatively simple observation....people are going to die there. There are these massive escalators leading up to and going down from the actual venue and you get people out in the sun all day long drinking malibu and orange juice and they're going to tumble down these things. I'm here to tell you. I'm warning all of yuzz.

Ascending reminded me of the touching ending to my very favorite movie of all time, 'The Heavenly Kid'. That guy who thought he was Travolta in 'Grease' has to do something positive as a ghost in order to get to heaven. He helps Doug Masters from 'Iron Eagle' become a stud and makes amends with his teen squeeze...then he gets to ride the long escalator up to meet Jesus Christ.
    H-Kid.jpg
That's him on the escalator at the end. He's The Heavenly Kid...but you know that. Who hasn't seen that movie a dozen times?

They keep that giant screen on all night long...which must suck for people who have the basic rooms facing the south. The lower floor versions, anyway.

The view is nicer now that the 35 mph winds have blown the cloud cover away.
    8-Pool.jpg
Before I got out of bed, I did what I always do in Las Vegas...watched the 'Golden Girls'. It was odd that Betty White was hanging with this couple who were about to do the wild thing. I liked the 1970's/1980's porn actor look, there...not that I've ever seen those types of movies (@Valgal sister).

Today is a new day and I'll forget about the $80 slip downstairs and start from scratch.

I did see that the Milwaukee Bucks were +$1350 downstairs to win the NBA Championship. Even though they won't because, well, because I have supported them for forty years of misery, that's just too crazy not to throw a hundie down on. I mean, they really could win the thing. They're good.

    Talk soon. XO

Have you had any trouble getting Uber/Lyfts or cabs downtown? I know you walk a lot but thought I'd ask.

At Circa the casino was pretty hopping until around 2-ish. When I was over at El Cortez, all the tables were pretty full around 11-Midnight. There wasn't much of anything happening inside Golden Gate, Plaza or Binions.

I thought the foot traffic was very light on Fremont Street, in general. I'm sure the wind and the low temperatures contributed to that, though.

    Have a great trip!
I have yet to take Uber or a taxi, but I notice they're around.

I'll be using them on THU and can give a more accurate answer for you...and DM me about your impending visit. I'm sure we can figure something out.

I have a hard time getting excited about any day without blasting some ND in the morn. They were on the Earache label for the longest time...and still might be. You can use that bit of info at that disco party, too.
    1-Napalm.jpg
It was +1350 on the sheet, but it ended up being +1000 at the window. Looks like there are many other people who are planning on losing money as well.

I've enjoyed staying at Circa. The casino and sportsbook are really, really nice. I like the set-up of both of them (I think the casino is 3 levels...only went to 1 and 2, though).

I like the elevator set up, but it would probably be a bit of a wait on a busy weekend. You push the floor on the touchscreen and you basically will have your own elevator ride. There are only four elevators per floor-tier. I would imagine on the weekends there will be a bit of a line getting to and from your room.
    2-Elevator.jpg
I like their lotion. It's not too perfumie and smells nice like Cosmos, Wynn's and Trump's (even though Trump's is a little perfumie...I do like it a lot. Kind of want to walk in there and get up to a housekeeper / raid the cart, actually). The nice lady down the hall gave me four, here. I'm easily satisfied.
    5-Lotions.jpg
The negatives here are that I can't fucking figure out how to work the lights to save my life. It seems everything is on all at once and you can't dim or turn off a section of lights. There are no switches to any lamps. It's kind of annoying because it reminds me of when I drive by peoples homes and they seem to have every single light on inside. That's pretty much what you get here....but there has to be a way to only turn on a certain bank of lights. I could just never figure out how and that shouldn't be so confusing, honestly.

The building seems to still be settling. It makes noise up here. Maybe part of that is due to the wind, but it sounds like you're on the bow of Noah's Ark (minus the animal noises).

The flag whippin' about reminds me of one thing and one thing only:
    3-OldGlory.jpg
    IwoJima.jpg
There they battled up Iwo Jima Hill
    Two hundred and fifty men
    But only twenty seven lived
    To walk back down again
And when the fight was over
    And Old Glory raised
Among the men who held it high was the Indian, Ira Hayes

    Johnny Cash

Finishin' up my Trippel and then headin' on out.

Love your El Co room, that SLAMMIN' looking drink and meal from Carson's Kitchen -- wow -- and your suite at Circa is AWESOME!

And, not sure if you were kidding, but I agree, the long-ass escalator I could see someone tumbling on just about every day and you had flat sneakers or shoes on. Imagine the women who hang out by the pool with heels on and then after a lot of sun and drinks hit that escalator.

I had to "focus" as I was on it when I visited the pool area with my host. Pretty sure it wasn't functioning going down so we had to walk down.

I assume/hope there is an elevator somewhere that folks can take as well. Come to think of it there would have to be from a ADA perspective.

    Anyway, I digress.

I'm already hoping you extend your trip. You have almost 6 days to go and it's feeling too short. :(

When you go to 5040 Spring Mountain Road in the Chinatown, you won't lose. I promise you.

A geographic lesson of this little oasis starts facing directly west where you'll eat lunch, here (they need to update the marquee).
20210324_123527.jpg Inside you'll eat the fried oysters, uni tomato cream and GermX.
20210324_125827.jpg 20210324_125801.jpg 20210324_131141.jpg When you exit, you're facing east and you'll go to Sago's, where you have a vodka-Sprite, but you actually make $100 in ordering it, which is the way it's supposed to work.
20210324_131242.jpg 20210324_131710.jpg 20210324_132040.jpg 20210324_132845.jpg You exit and head NW and grab a quick fried shrimp wonton for the commute.
20210324_133016.jpg 20210324_140738.jpg Due North is a terrific ramen joint and in the Pacific NW is a very good restaurant that only offers dinn dinn.
20210324_133526.jpg 20210324_133554.jpg If you're lucky enough, you'll have David Bowie & Bing Crosby pop up on the ipod. Don't matter what seasonit is...it's hard to top this duet.
20210324_135936.jpg You'll see some new things.

After getting the image of the human Sunkist can out of my mind, I slipped into the Puppymill.

There....there was something in the parking lot. I studied it and couldn't come to any conclusion.

That dinn dinn spot (Kabuto) is the best sushi I’ve had in Vegas and among the best I’ve ever had anywhere.
