I went through the "Tell me about the Plaza" post and learned a lot but I have a few questions that are still in my head. My wife and I mostly play at CET & BOYD properties, we have decided this trip to book the Plaza for 3 nights and see how we like it. Some question that I have: Can you use your points in the restaurants? I do not see that listed. Does anyone know if they match tier status? I did not see that listed. I decided not to reach out to a host to see if they would match any offers for free nights, so if I do not like the casino I can just pay for my room and play somewhere else, but if I do play how are they on backend comps? thanks in advance for any information
--may want to rethink your approach-------would reach out to a host and see if he\she will match any offers you have for free nites and match your tier status--- ---if you like the casino your play will cover------if you play elsewhere you still get the comp rooms and only hurt your chances for future comps----
Agreed, in this situation ask for a match and if you're not feeling it well, it was a first date both ways. I like the plaza though, I like it's end of Fremont location, the option of South tower, the pizza joint and bingo are not bad. They could use a refresh of the felts but that minor. Steak spots not bad, I like that a shot of casino was done there
Yes, you can use points in the restaurant. According to their brochure, 250 points = $1 in Food Comps. $1 coin-in = 1 point in slots, $3 coin-in = 1 point for VP. You can also convert 250 points to $1 in free play. As far as matching tier status, I think they did this at one time but discontinued it. I actually liked the Plaza, especially after they have overhauled it in the past couple years. Much better games on the floor. Can't say much about the rooms as I haven't stayed. You can always reach out to a host and ask for comps if you provide them with some offers you receive from casinos downtown. Worth a shot anyways.
Thanks @mhetrick for sharing the information on the point system! @vptony - I sent you a DM with some answers and a few questions of my own. If you do stay/play at the Plaza, I want to make sure you have the most accurate information tailored for you.
I'm curious about the same, because I think I just had bad timing. The Plaza was my first ever hotel in Vegas, my 2nd half of my week visit was at Monte Carlo. I think I chose the wrong time to visit because the table games at the Plaza were mostly closed at the time, and the casino was like a ghost town (even though I booked a paid room there because they had the game I wanted) so I wandered down to GN and found myself playing there most of the time. I tried to give the Plaza some play when the table was open but apparently even though I lost $500 it wasn't enough to even get a food comp and they had to negative comp me for just a breakfast (my home casino gives points for table play that would have been enough for at least $20 in food). So after my week long trip GN and Mlife started sending me offers for suites and hundreds in free play, while the Plaza gave me token offers that were even less than my home casino, so I never turned back and stuck with GN and Mlife ever since.
My offers are usually 4 nights free suite, $100/day FP or chips, and $150 food credit. Be careful using the promo chips, as they won’t break them down. If you get $100 promo chip, it’s literally $100 promo chip you play all at once.
Could you give an estimate of how much coin-in it takes for the offer you noted? This is similiar to offers we get at another casino property on our video poker play.
The plaza is awesome.....you’ll like it. The location to freemont is probably best part.....right across the street! Staying there end of April for second time....I can’t wait. Last time we got a free upgrade to Luxe rooms...super nice rooms. I believe a member of this forum is hotel manager there and was generous enough to give us an upgrade, but can’t remember his name ☹️
