Still following along with this thread and it warms my heart to read about the number of people on the board that are now fully vaccinated. I sure wish we had more positive news to report here in Canada but our roll out is still horribly behind. Ontario's population is over 14.5 million and currently only 164,307 people are fully vaccinated. Even though popular media and our representatives are saying the general public will be in line by Sept basic math says otherwise. We are still holding out a remote hope that we can travel again by October but with each passing day that seems less likely.

Keep sharing your experiences so we can continue to read and gain hope. Take care of yourselves you awesome VMB members!

My heart goes out to you. And to be honest I’m amazed. I would have expected Canada to be way ahead of the US.

Ontario here too.....it sure is frustrating. Canada ordered enough for everyone to be vaccinated 8 times but we just aren’t getting the vaccine delivered :(

Calculator for Ontario says June to August. Here’s hoping.

Somehow, I discovered this thread only today

First shot.... zero side effects other than super-minor sore arm. Moderna

Second shot five days ago. Same arm soreness. Headache 18 hours after shot, chills (no fever) 30 hours after shot. Neither severe, both easily managed with Acetaminophen, both brief duration.

I can feel the immunity growing in my system, urging me to hop on a plane and redeem offers.

After "dialing for doses" on the computers for the last 3 days at 6 different companies we finally got appointments at a Rite Aid 100 miles away but I'll take it. A lot of our friends and family have gotten closer appointments. Just luckier than we are, I guess.

I would take that too. :) Was it still in your county?

It seems like we might be limited to our county here in WA. I'm actually closer to Seattle (not my county) then I am to the mass vaccination clinic in my county. My group is next and I'm trying to plot my options so I know where to look when appointments are available. It would be nice to get one on the island, but we seem to not be getting very many doses per week.

It's 4 counties away. I found a lot of appointments in Indiana (I'm in Ohio) but I honestly didn't want to drive 10 hours R/T.

Had my second dose of Pfizer Friday....only side effect each time was the sore arm. My friend and her husband without issues (besides sore injection site) either. All thru our local health department which did health care/front line workers and now working on over 65. Kind of cool as we are 45 minutes away from any organized pharmacy chain.

Be careful crossing state lines, I've looked at Indiana but there state health department site says you must live or work in indiana.

Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from another that tomorrow, supposedly those from my county who are over 70 will be able to sign up for appointments to get vaccinated.

The good news is that at least it appears that the line is moving!

The bad news is that I still do not qualify.

I guess I can say that each person who gets vaccinated is one less who may get infected and spread it around, to me or anyone.

At least it's encouraging news, as in maybe I might not have to fly to Texas or Uruguay or Antarctica to get vaccinated! Take it on the run, I guess. :)

My wife and mother both work with children so they're on shot 1 of 2 w/Moderna. Second ones coming up in a week or so. I'm scheduled for 3/26 for my first one.

I'm ready. I've been dodging bullets like the Matrix. Nearly every peer leader at work and my boss have contracted it in the past three weeks. All of us go into the office 1-2x per week (using precautions and protocol), and because of the snow and driving weather, I haven't gone in, since I'm 40 minutes away on a summer day, let alone snow. Been WFH. Crazy lucky because I'm sure I would have had it by now.

Welp, I just finished walking back through the FOAF chain (see above) tracing the origin of tomorrow's supposed roll-out to age 70 folks. Like the kid's game of "telephone", yes, there appears to be some distortion in the channel. The source of the info is an apparently new page on the county health department web site listing the ANTICIPATED dates that they will begin vaccinating age groups, and not definite start dates. I guess the tomorrow and not today is due to the government holiday.

It's on line here, if anyone cares: https://sarpycasshealthdepartment.org/covid-19-vaccination-information

The good news is that it lists the (again) anticipated date that they will start vaccinating over 65, and that is next Monday! Maybe some light at the end of the tunnel here!

That web page at the link above was NOT on line when I checked the county web site last, which was probably Friday, and it's obviously a quick throw-up without proofreading, as per the text: "Anticipated Date to Being {sic} Scheduling Appointments" on the who-is-when chart.

I'm wondering if that was done in response to my cohort across the hall phoning them and going into b*tchmode reading them the riot act last week?

Anyway, wheels appear to be turning.

We've had a few people who were out with it, but not recently. Those are obviously at least partly immune now. Nobody that I know here has actually been poked yet. We do have the option of working from home, but for some of us that got old and we first started making excuses to go in to work, and now do that most days for at least part of the day. It seems like the younger ones like to work at home more. Of those I know who have been infected, nobody has had a serious case (knocking on wood).

Anyone have massive fatigue after their first shot? I was fine for about a day and then, for the next two days, I slept off and on about 18 hours a day. I know that fatigue is a symptom but this was like my first two days back home after two weeks in Vegas. Freaky.

Had my first shot at CVS on Friday (Moderna). I was fine that night other than a slightly sore arm. Saturday I was utterly exhausted even though I slept a ton Friday night. Sunday I felt a little better but not great. I finally felt better today.

Not after my first Moderna shot but definitely after the second. After that one, my arm started killing me within an hour. Less than 12 hours later, I was down for the count with chills, headache, body aches, and exhaustion. Lasted for a good day and I spent that entire day in bed. The next day I started feeling much better. It's crazy how quickly it came on and also how quickly it was gone. Hope you don't feel the same after your second shot.

I guess one takeaway from the side effects, especially bad ones like you experienced, is that we know what is causing them and they'll only be for a day or so - unlike when we get really sick completely out of the blue. At least knowing that it might happen, and if it does it won't last too long, is of some comfort.
