I have it on good authority that it's not me.

But yes, I would also go with Golden Tiki.

As an aside, when I was a much tinier person, my grandmother would take me to King Yum in Queens, which unfortunately closed a few years ago, but was a tiki-themed Chinese restaurant. I miss that place like crazy.

I'll go against the trend and say Frankie's.....always get better drinks there and I like the more laid back atmosphere.

Yeah I am team Frankies. Golden Tiki has been hit or miss for me, and my misses were very bad, almost not return bad. But it's a tiki bar so I can never say no lol. I am not sure what either is like in this restricted climate. As you can read on the Frankies website - drink, smoke, escape. If these are your goals, this is your place!

I’ve only been to Frankie’s, but the drinks were great and I won enough playing Video Poker to pay for our drinks. [emoji16][emoji484]

    Two totally different experiences.

Frankie’s is a true locals/dive/tiki bar icon. The bartenders have been pouring up tiki drinks for 10+ years.

Golden Tiki is more over the top and touristy. More polished.

Both are great. I prefer Frankie’s. If you’ve ever watched the Anthony Bourdain Vegas episode that gets to the heart of Vegas... Frankie’s is a prime example.

Been to both, Golden Tiki does have a bit more of an "animated attraction" type vibe compared to Frankie's, as noted by Chilli. Though I have to say I prefer Golden Tiki, both for drinks and for atmosphere.

You can't go wrong with either IMO. Neither beats the Shameful Tiki Room in Toronto's Queen West area though :) that's tops in my book.

Frankie’s is the kind of bar where you feel grateful for what you get: grateful not to walk into a pole in the dark, grateful to get a seat at the bar, grateful to get the bartender’s attention. You get a really good drink and you’re happy to pay the price for it. As a previous poster said, Golden Tiki is more polished. It’s kind of the Disney version of what Frankie’s actually is.

Great, now I need to plan a trip to Toronto. Whenever the border reopens. Hoping I get to do my normal summer trip to Stratford this year, but not holding my breath.

Do you have a suggestion of a better Tiki bar?

My vote's for Golden Tiki since I think they give one free Tiki drink for every $50 lost on VP. I'd call ahead and ask.

Frankie's. The crowd is more down to earth and the bartenders are much friendlier and quicker with the drinks. Nothing wrong with Golden Tiki but I prefer the atmosphere at Frankie's.

I noticed that Frankie's advertises the "casino" but do they comp drinks at their bar if you're playing?

In my experience at Frankie's they'd comp stuff like domestic beers whilst playing but they didn't comp tiki drinks.

I haven't been to Golden, but the one time I went to Frankie's the smell of smoke was so overwhelming we left before we could even order a drink. It was thick in there!!!
