I didn't see an announcement about this nor is there a press release on the V/P website, but I just called to change a comped Palazzo reservation for Christmas weekend and to make a second reservation for the following weekend when the reservationist said that yesterday it was announced that the HOTEL portion of Palazzo was closing until further notice.

I asked her whether that was just midweek and she said no, it means every day of the week, until further notice. To quadruple check :), I also asked whether it would be open at all between Christmas and New Years and she said it would not be, which is why my first reservation for Christmas weekend had to be moved from Palazzo to Venetian and the second one (New Year's weekend) is also booked at the Venetian.

Again, per what I was told a few minutes ago the casino floor and the restaurants are going to be open but the hotel is closed every day of the week until further notice.

It's a double-booking with Wynncore as per your usual, correct?

This is good information. So glad I stayed at Palazzo last weekend, to make up for the midweek hotel closure back in August.

And, FYI, I searched for about 15 minutes for ANY news articles about this decision and found nothing, but then I remembered the relationship between the LVRJ and Sands Corp so that may explain, at least in part, not seeing any news.

I also went on the V/P website and it looks like I could make a reservation at the Palazzo, so to ensure I didn't misunderstand, I just called V/P to check, again, and even said that it looks like a customer could still book a Palazzo room online. The reservationist said the decision was JUST made and so marketing had not yet updated the website.

Ack, I much prefer Palazzo to Venetian since it's quieter.

I'm at Palazzo now, with checkout Monday. I also have Palazzo booked next weekend, but so far no one has notified me that it's changed to Venetian.

I prefer the Palazzo hotel as well. I like the machine selection more at Venetian but I like the more open and quieter feel of Palazzo, plus it's easier to physically handle the double booking walking over the bridge from Wynn. Yeah, high-class problems. LOL.

It'll be interesting to see when they bring up your reservation for next weekend. I think Monday is it until at least after the first of the year.

Thanks for the intel, Flowers. I love the Palazzo and I, too, prefer it over Venetian. I’m sad they are closing UFN, but hopefully not for too long.

That’s where we stayed Thanksgiving week and had a great time as usual. I love how it’s easy to get to two other casinos from there - Wynn and Venetian.

A buddy of mine was just there about a month ago and had plans of going back for Valentines weekend with his wife. He is not a fan of the Venetian, so may shift elsewhere or not go to LV that weekend at all.

Thanks for the information. Having cancelled my trip that was supposed to happen this week, we rebooked for Valentine's Day @ Palazzo. I prefer Palazzo over Venetian so I'm hoping that they reopen the hotel by then.

I just talked with reservations. I have a reservation for Thursday-Saturday this week that I needed to modify to Friday-Saturday. The agent told me that while it hasn't been announced, Palazzo was unavailable now. She couldn't make modifications to the reservation cause their system was down.

The last time I had a Palazzo reservation, I was suppose to be switched to Venetian. It didn't happen, but I called ahead of time and the agent told me "Glad you called because you hadn't been switched over".

I'm going to give them a call later to verify the switch over to Venetian if indeed Palazzo is closed. While the casino is kinda boring, I really prefer the rooms over there.

I'm hopeful -- as it would be a good sign for Vegas -- if the Palazzo hotel were back open by then. Fingers crossed.

I really hate to say it, but with NYE and all the big conventions out, this pattern is probably going to continue until the weather warms up in the spring.

Today, I received an email confirming my checkin to Venetian (my reservation starts this Friday).

Same confirmation code as when I booked Palazzo (and same email as before, just with Venetian instead of Palazzo). No mention that they switched me to Venetian. Had you not mentioned it, I probably would've ignored it and gone straight to Palazzo to checkin, so you saved me a walk!

I have zero doubt that this will be the case - likely until March/April. But I'm very optimistic that this will be the final round of shutdowns that is we'll have to deal with and at the conclusion of this we'll be well on our way to recovery.

    Fingers crossed.

I had a reservation for the Palazzo for December 19-22 and I just received an email changing it to the Venetian.

Interesting that the article refers to shutting down the hotel completely through December 23rd, as if the Palazzo hotel might be open between Christmas and New Years. I specifically asked the reservationist about Christmas through New Years and she said it would be closed then as well. Maybe they are playing it by ear or maybe they don't want to say publicly, now at least, that it is closed even during the holiday week.
