Everyone hurry up and book Excalibur so you might get moved to nice hotel at the cheaper price!

My experience: teaser news releases like that are planned leaks to prepare the audiences, including staff and investors, that changes are a'comin. They likely already know they're doing it.

I'm a mid week visitor. Already a little put off by lack of dining, attractions weekdays. I just extended a Cosmo trip one extra weekday.... it would suck not to be able to walk to Aria or Bellagio during week.

There maybe some rebooking options Id consider. For example Aria to a nicer Bellagio room, and vice versa. But to me, some properties are unique when considering rooms, location, size, "vibe" .. if they closed Nomad for my mid-week December visit, I wouldn't find any other property comparable. I'd cancel.

And this timing coincides with airlines starting to abandon their Covid no-question refunds. So not only would I cancel rather than be moved, I'd be forced to forfeit my non-refundable airfare.

This isn't surprising. Until business travel and the convention schedule resumes, things won't be normal.

I think they know things are going to be pretty dicey here through the winter months and want to be prepared to sustain and survive vs. end up having to completely shut everything down again.

That and the potential of not having pool season for a 2nd straight year (revenue)

I'm hoping that they'll have some semblance of a pool season by spring. Not normal but getting there.

December through February could be brutal, though.

    Does anyone know from experience?......

When moved to another property due to closure, as has happened in recent months when resorts remained closed... are most people told their new assignment, take it or leave it? Or is it a fairly simple process to call and explore options?

The samples we've seen on the board were from CET properties, but those seemed to be take it or leave it moves. Pure speculation what MGM Resorts might do.

In July I had a reservation for The Mirage....when they extended their closure I called and they told me at that time they were moving Mlife members who booked through Mlife, which was me, that they were sending us to the Aria, which I took. They said others were being sent to MGM. While I was talking on the phone however they were open to putting me else where and did offer the MGM and Bellagio. I'm sure if you get on the phone with them you may have some options and flexibility. They did say that regardless of where I went they would honor the original reservation price...or comp if you were on a comp trip.

Got moved from Park MGM to MGM Grand. I would have asked for somewhere else, but my friends were also moved to MGM Grand so I’m just going with it. I was staying on an offer with free play and resort credit. Should I expect that to be honored at MGM Grand?

Give them a call and double check but it should be. If not, insist.

I would suspect Park MGM is a prime candidate as I believe they're already limiting the hotel and in their recent earnings call, it was said that the Park casino was their only Vegas casino operating at a loss. I could see nomad easily falling victim to that.
