That used to be home base for me. Not that I’m going there anytime soon. Terribly disappointed in their response to your situation. Glad you were able to turn the chicken .... into chicken salad!

Matty Ice - glad you are ok from your altercation. That is horrible and terrible way of handling things by the 4Q.

I was in Vegas last month and stayed at The D. They were checking room keys at the elevator. No idea if this was due to the clientele, what happened in January or due to covid and trying to cut down on number of guests touching the elevator buttons. There was a much different clientele downtown and on the strip. Cheap rooms and flights has some of the not normal Vegas guests out there now. I was told by multiple casino employees that the table minimums are much higher because they are trying to keep that element off the tables to avoid any possible incident. I never had seen so many interesting people just hanging around and not gambling. I'd advise anyone to be extra safe on an upcoming trip.

Sorry for my short thred jack.

You made a wise choice moving to Bally’s. Hate to hear you had to go through this

That place has been mentioned a few times on the board. Would you recommend? Would you go back?

Honestly, I’m not sure what tower I was in. I was booked in a Premium room, but it appeared very old and far from premium. I used the elevators closest to registration. I’m not sure if there is another set of elevators.

You were staying in the South tower. Those are the better rooms but don't expect them to be as nice as mid-range CET or MGM Strip properties. The elevator for the North tower is basically right next to the entryway from FSE, near the WMS 100-play VP machines.

I agree that security for the entire hotel registration area needs improvement. This can be remediated by...
    • closing access to the South tower elevators from the casino floor (force all access to the elevator area to only be from the registration area)
    • actually placing security guards visibly in the lobby (with at least one checking for room keys)
      • maybe get one of those hotel room validation kiosks like Venetian has been using for months

Thanks Julian! Those are great suggestions, all could be pretty easy to implement.

Julian, as you mention, Any random person from the Fremont St can easily just walk into the casino floor to panhandle and case people for robbery’s but also easily access the elevators and be on any floor of the hotel within seconds. It’s horrible and completely unsafe. Feel awful this happened to my friend on our annual trip. And the response from 4 Queens is one of complete non-accountability, concern and/or interest in keeping a valuable customer. Completely unacceptable. And BTW, their hotel safe wasn’t working (shocker) which led to @Matty Ice having more cash than normal on him.

Back home this morning. Despite the craziness it ended up being one of our best overall. I scratched a much needed “Vegas itch” and I’m really glad that I went but with the current environment I can honestly say I’m not sure when I’ll be heading back. Way too much ********* and shady characters everywhere. I saw many posts saying the same thing over the past few months and I didn’t quite understand it until I experienced it for myself. Thanks @Matty Ice for another great Vegas run!

Sorry to hear about your issues at Four Queens and hopefully they make it right. Years ago I had a weird issue at PHO where my wife forgot something in the room and I ran up to get it. When I exited the elevator there was someone at the landing and they followed me down the hall. I turned and asked if there is going to be a problem. He rambled on about forgetting his wallet downtown at the casino he was staying at and just needed money to take a cab back downtown. I told him to take a hike and called security and as I was going back down security was already on the floor. I gave his description and was just thankful it was not my wife that went back to the room. I hope the rest of your trip is uneventful except for a cascade of royals.

Upon checking in, if I discover that my room does not have a working safe, I go down to the desk and get a different room. On a trip in 2019, I booked a gaming offer from the Plaza for three nights (Thu, Fri, Sat). I checked in super-late in the evening (around 2 am) due to flight delays. I ended up being given the kind of room the hotel purposely avoids giving out if at all possible -- north tower, 3rd floor (lowest floor with rooms), end of hallway. I had a lovely view of the bingo room windows across the way (also on the same level), in between which was a roof. That room did not have a working safe. I ended up using a safe deposit box at the casino cage. (At the Four Queens one would get a safe deposit box at the hotel front desk.) Early the next afternoon, I was finally able to request a change to another room -- higher up, and in the nicer south tower. The only problem was that this room also did not have a working safe. Fortunately for me, I had double-booked the last two nights of my Plaza stay with two nights at the Four Queens -- where my south tower room did have a working safe.

That safe deposit box at the Plaza came in handy when I had an amazing win at bingo the very session after being handed a second defective room.

Same happened to me also in 2019. We had just landed off a 10 hour flight and had the full bankroll with us. They sent a guy up (eventually) but the safe was some archaic design and it needed a new circuit board- they had no other rooms so we camped out with some McDonalds and checked out the next morning, having managed to get an extra night added to our stay at Bellagio. Sounds like it was a common problem at Plaza, though this was a room clearly still awaiting renovations. In fairness to them, they didn't charge us a dime.
