One thing I learned as a wee lad 40/50 years ago. If it looks like it gonna be trouble..beware. 2nd, know your surroundings. Whether it’s VEGAS, Buffalo, or Boise Idaho. No 1 location/ community has a. monopoly on a-sholes or troublemakers!
    Just my 2 cents

The trick to a great pumpkin bread is fresh spices. That jar of pre ground nutmeg and cloves have probably lost their flavor by now so buy them whole and grind them fresh. Use leftover pumpkin to make pasta.

As far as Vegas, I won't be visiting for quite some time. Closed restaurants and bars while keeping distance from other buffoons sounds to me like the anti-Vegas. Throw in this new wave of fights and short nerves and I'll be content pouring Manhattans and drinking Great Lakes for the time being.

Currently, Vegas is turning into the 1970's version of Times Square. Just without the porn.

That is NOT the direction anywhere should let happen, let alone a major tourist spot.

I know I’m dating myself, but back in the hey days of the Stardust, DI, Dunes, etc. (where I frequently played), I seriously doubt “the fellas” would have tolerated any of this current nonsense with scooters, fights, etc. in or around their properties for one second. Just sayin’

I agree but cell phone cameras, the internet, or urge to go viral on YouTube didn't exist at that time.

I've been going to Vegas for 15 years. When I first started going, resorts were out in the very early morning power washing their properties. They were waxing floors. Security was always visible.

After the recession, all of those people lost those jobs and everything changed. I think Vegas is in for another change after this and it won't be good.

Instead of investing in these things that attract customers (cleanliness, security, good odds), resorts continue cutting costs. Add that staff back to the mix, increase room rates a bit, add decent gambling incentives and odds, and give customers the feeling that they are getting something for spending their hard-earned money at the resort and you may, just may, gain back many lost customers. Charging fees for drinks and food, charging per pool lounge chair, charging resort fees, and charging for parking all have had a negative impact on customer feeling and business.

Clearly, the Vegas of old is gone. However, a few small tweaks could really gain a new following and group of customers that no longer exist. It sure would make one resort stand out above the others, especially since they are all starting to look alike like office buildings.

I saw a video on Vital Vegas twitter. A fight that appears to be inside the Flamingo Lobby/Casino area. I won't post it here - due to the nudity. One young lady was walloping with fists on another and the girls (boobs) fell out and she was not ashamed. Wow. It doesn't say when it happened but it must have been recently because some are wearing masks. I still have faith things will settle down.

The video was linked here, but I had to remove it this morning because it violates our agreement with Google and they would not like it. Please remember when you post or link to things here, that it can't have nudity or excessive adult language. Thanks!

One thing is for sure, it gets obvious that media and casinos together are doing a good job keeping this out of the mainstream world given how many different videos are being spread on twitter - no matter Fremont, Encore or Cosmo.

Really hoping casinos step up their security to prevent this from getting the norm.

Honestly, all these videos and news articles makes me think if I should still go to Vegas next week with the family, who are all adults. One person in the family uses a wheelchair and we try to avoid Cosmo due to a negative experience with the clientele there (pre-COVID days). All the reports of people driving recklessly in scooters is a concern as well.

What I am hearing is that we need VMB boots on the ground assessment of someone staying at the Flamingo for two nights and the Mirage for two nights to go undercover and provide all of us with a briefing? This will require a deep undercover Special Ops approach where I may have to do an excessive amount of drinking and gambling in order to blend in. I will accept and undertake this challenge 15 days from now even though I may get a little bit of dirt under my fingernails.

    In short, mission.....accepted.

This tape will self destruct in 15 seconds. And the VMB as well as Sonya will disavow any knowledge of you or your mission. Good luck!

The best wife in the world is letting me "Get My Vegas On" all by myself.

We just cancelled a trip to New Orleans last weekend. I had to cancel my annual Boys Trip to Montana which has been a tradition for 6-10 high school buddies for over 30 years. I think she is feeling sorry for me that so much has had to be cancelled over the last couple months. We also just spent the weekend in Banff for our 1st anniversary and there had been a lot of flowers in the house prior to me asking if I could go to Vegas. Purely coincidental, right guys????

JR is not working from home but I am. So, I am able to isolate when I return from the US and so it's no biggie for me to go into seclusion and hence....fairly easy to get to Vegas as long as they are still letting us Canucks fly over the border unimpeded.

Now let's just hope the bar tops get opened by then.

Stayed at Flamingo third week of August for 3 nights. Never had any issues. Never felt unsafe. Overall was low key. Picked up a little at night and weekend but nothing crazy.
