Wanted to save a little cash and booked the Rio for 2 weeks from now as it was the cheapest I had from CET. Has anyone had a reservation moved from the Rio recently and where did they put you? I assume CET is still moving all the reservations that are for closed places...

If I end up at the Rio no big deal as I've never been inside it, but just tryin to figure out where I'll get pushed to if they do move the reservaton.

At the end of July, my Rio reservation was moved to Bally's.

I booked a 1600 square foot suite at the Rio (don’t remember the room name) for $61 a night no resort fee September 18-22, when I booked it I knew the chances were slim it would be open but I’m also curious where I’ll be moved to, and if I’ll have a similar room. I’m ok with Ballys, but with the Linq opening back up next week I have a feeling it could be there. I hate the Linq.

Wow, $61 without a resort fee sounds like a great deal especially for over a weekend! I’ve never stayed at the rio and have only been there once in the last 10 years or so (had a great time there) but for that price it would be worth considering.

I had every standard room comped, but had that suite offered for $61 extra. I’m diamond which is where the no resort fee comes from. :)

This suite is on my bucket list. The strip view ones are remodeled with the funky colorful carpet - that thumbnail is the furnishings in the older, not renovated maintain view ones. I like almost everything about Rio other than being off strip, but hate the rooms, so I figure one day I'll snag one of these if I get the opportunity and give them one more try. They have a jetted tub right up against a floor to ceiling window so that's pretty cool.

I had two weeks in one of those on my very first trip to Vegas for the 2006 WSOP. It kinda spoiled me for when I had 3 weeks at the IP for on the next trip for the 2008 WSOP :evillaugh:

View was amazing, especially at night, and just so many windows, lol,

Thanks for that picture, it does look pretty cool! Seems like about 25 years ago, maybe a little more, when I first started going to Vegas the rio was considered high end,one of the better hotel/casinos in Vegas. They had that show in the sky,one of the better buffets, maybe the best one in Vegas, and just a lot of excitement going on. To bad it hasn’t been maintained tho I did have a good time visiting for a few hours last visit and the casino was hopping that day!

Did you book it online or did you talk to someone? Online, all I see are comped options but none are the 1,600 sq ft "double-wide" suites.

It was shown online when I booked about a month back. I did book it under a GGWU code

Was just moved to Bally's in case anyone was wondering. Actual night of stay isn't until 9/19, so looks like they're getting ahead of it a little more these days.

@tearfromred were you given the same type of room as you booked at Rio?

Not sure yet. I had to confirm the change and then they will email me confirmation in the coming days. I booked the most basic room at Rio, so I'm sure it will be the same at Bally's.

I was also moved to Ballys, no confirmation on room type.

Just remember, that the most basic room at the Rio is going to be bigger than the most basic room at Bally's.
