@nancyf, give me some time/let covid wash over and I'll change this. We have a hell of a group here and, once everyone feels comfortable, we will also have another meet next year as well to give you sufficient time to attend as it would be great to see you!

in a normal year, I get to AC 3 or 4 times a year.... so when things clear up covid-wise (we need a vaccine) and things return to (dare I say) normal... I WILL get to AC again ... and I will let everyone know ahead of time ... I would love to meet everyone

Stopped by AC today... gorgeous weather! Sunny, 83, not humid, light breeze... perfect.:trophy::trophy::trophy:

Played a little in Ocean HL room. Just one other person in the room with me. Then, some craps ($10).:nono:

Nothing spectacular, but I left +$500. Oh, and 2 bottles of wine in an unexpected give-a-way. IMG_20200817_141317987.jpg IMG_20200817_151243145.jpg IMG_20200817_151620833.jpg

@LB9 I couldn't agree more. We love October trips for the same reason. Love walking the beach in the morning and evening and enjoying the outside while not being crazy crowded and hot. I'm honestly a little surprised that more places don't stay open into the fall. I'm 35 and I can't stand most of the 21-25 year olds down there even before covid. During the winter though, I do enjoy that same age group as it seems to make the places feel more lively and upbeat.

When I win, I just can't stop going. So, 7 trips this month of August. Won each trip (yes, some trips were +$50) and now my $500 bankroll for my 'test' trip is up to $1,600. Winning is fun.
Today I stopped off at Goff Lobster Company (actually a wholesale seafood distributor) just off Delilah Road in Pleasantville, NJ. This place is a recommendation from @hammie. WOW! So, for tonight's dinner I picked up 2 2# lobsters.:feedme: $22 each, but where can you regularly find 2# lobsters? Also, clams at $28 or $33 per 100 count depending on type. Crab, crab, crab and fish by the 10# box. LOVED IT!:woohoo::woohoo:

Nice! They had 100 Virginia Oysters for $45 about a month ago. It doesn’t get much cheaper than that except for raking them in the bay. They have a 10 lb box of frozen Mahi Mahi portions for $40. That’s a lot of fish tacos. We picked up a bag of frozen crab cakes, 10 for $16. These are not backfin or lump, probably claw meat and lots of filler, but they are well seasoned and make a quick dinner.

We were at Harrah's last night and I was not happy with how they're handling COVID compared to Borgata. No temp checks upon entry, lots of hand sanitizing machines but very few hand wipe stations and some were empty, saw very little cleaning going on, room (Waterfront tower) was not spic and span, smoking area outside valet was disgusting, they're not keeping up with landscaping (I know, not important but it kind of goes along with other things not being taken care of) and I just didn't feel as "safe" there as I did at the Borg. We went to Bally's this morning to pick up our diamond celebration gift and I doubt that we'll be staying on the boardwalk anytime soon. I did get 4 A's with a kicker and a straight flush though so at least I came home a winner..

Can you please extrapolate on this a bit if you don't mind?

We didn't stay on the boardwalk very long and I can't exactly put my finger on why I wasn't happy there. It was just little things like trying to find a parking place in the garage (it was packed, probably with people who were going to the beach) since valet is closed, hard to find a place to grab a bite to eat and the few places that were open had, of course, no place to sit and eat (I understand but it wasn't very convenient) so we had to take our food out to the Boardwalk. I just felt better when we were at Borgata a few weeks ago. CET doesn't seem to be taking as many precautions as they should be. Nothing was glaringly out of place and I'm not discouraging anyone from going. Just me, I guess. It was a beautiful morning though and we enjoyed being out on the Boardwalk for a nice stroll.

I also find CET to be lacking in the care of their AC properties and their Covid response. Not especially bad response to Covid, but not as robust as Ocean, Hard Rock or Borgata. As for the properties, I think that for whatever reason, CET isn't investing all that needs to be done to keep them up much less investing enough in extra cleaning measures. For some reason, CET is letting their AC properties sit on the back burner. They seem to be doing the absolute minimum to keep them within NJ Covid guidelines. They seem to be doing the absolute minimum to keep them from disrepair. They seem to be doing the absolute minimum to keep them vacation-friendly (restaurants, beach/pool service) for their patrons.
I was also at Harrah's this morning to pick up $70 in fp. Winning trip but I had to leave by noon as it was getting crowded.

It's too bad because we always liked Harrah's the best of all three that are still in AC.I remember when the Water Club was new and the rooms seemed very plush. They really need to be updated and CET just doesn't seem to care although they did put some money into updating some of the other towers. It will be interesting to see what happens now that they're owned by Eldorado.

@Wallew and @LB9 I might be considered a little lazy but thought I would just ask, instead of looking to much, to see if 9/25 was still a "maybe" date or if there was a new/different one. I'll be headed to (Bally's) today (8/30) till Tuesday and then again next Saturday to Monday (Harrah's) ( going to try my luck at the Millionaire Maker Slot Tourney for the first time, ever. Any pointers? Go! lol). So just thought I'd ask. I did book a room for the 25th, just in case....

    Thanks guys!

    HG :)

Ps- Anyone going to be around today/tomorrow? First round is on me :)

Thanks for the heads up @Happygirl21, would love to hear a TR (or some sort of anecdote when you're done to satiate us until we can go! lol). I would possibly come up but alas, where I live (VA) is still on the quarantine list so end of Sept is my best bet.... but there's also a change of indoor dining at that point per the Governor's comments so I'm hopeful lol, but am planning on it notwithstanding as long as we're not on the damn quarantine list.

I did this tourney in Vegas before and it was sort of a party if I recall, or at least there were drinks, which I don't think AC can do now unfortunately. @Wallew @smerrian @hammie are far more local and would have fresher intel than me, so I would defer to them. I may me mistaken but I think @smerrian was actually just there a few days ago, so insofar as the vibe/atmosphere, he would have some close-to real time intel. Plus they're all fun guys so perhaps they may meet ya there! I know @EastCoastVegasFan! may be coming up, so he's also a good resource and perhaps check with him.

Hope you have a great time and give us (me lol) something to read about this week! :D

I'll be in town Monday, 8/31. I don't hang around in the casinos once it starts getting busier (noonish). Usually I head home but I could meet for a couple of drinks at Bally's Beach Bar or better yet, I can pack my own bar and pour a drink for walking on the boardwalk. Whichever. It would be great to see you again.

As for heading to AC today, no way. Getting there is no problem but heading out on a Sunday after a rainy washout Saturday and a beautiful Sunday, everyone along the shore will be staying as long as they can on Sunday and come dinner time the roads will be a parking lot. Being retired I don't have to deal with that sh*t.

I, also, have a room for Sept meet. (Sept 24-26 at Ocean) Looking forward to it. I'm expecting date to remain the same as no one has come forth with alternate plans.

I've never bothered with MM. I don't like promos where I put a lot of money on the line for a chance at something...and that's a real longshot. I expect guaranteed tit for tat with my promotions. Come play and we'll give you this. That's the promotions I like.

So, because I am now going to Vegas Oct 1 - Oct 4, I’m out for AC in September. With that said, I am up for a road trip to AC sooner than later. Today would have been a perfect game, it’s beautiful out!

Stu, you there next weekend? I’ll be laying out at the beach with my boys if you’re around.

Probably. It's doubtful I'd travel on Fri or Mon as the roads will just be sit and wait. Possibly, head down early morning Sat or Sun. Would really enjoy seeing your boys. Weekends aren't really appealing to me during Covid.
