I think I have finally figured something out. The HA on placing the 5 or 9 is 4%, buying a number you pay a 5% vig so buying a 5 or 9 is a bad idea and I've read it and heard it a thousand times. But even I can figure a $40 5 pays 8 x 7 or $56, while the vig on a$40 bet is $2 netting a pay of $58. In Biloxi I see the 5 and 9 bought from time to time.
It finally hit me that in Biloxi you only pay the big on a win not up front making it an acceptable bet.
    Is all that correct?

Yes in Tunica and Biloxi, it’s an automatic buy on bets of $20 or more

    after vig taken out
    $20 pays $29 vs regular $28
    $50 pays $73 vs $70
    $100 pays $145 instead of 140

in Biloxi you only pay vig upfront on the extreme numbers on crapless craps 2,3,11,12 all other buy bets are taken on win only. In Tunica no vig upfront on any bets.

For you bubble players, always buy the 5 and 9 (and 4 and 10) instead of placing.

Only paying the vig on a win makes the buy a better play

I like to play bubble craps machines in the era of COVID. Can you elaborate?

@FABismonte Suppose you bet $10 on the 5. Placing it pays $14. Buying it should pay $14.50 after a $0.50 commission (5%). On a live table, it only makes sense to buy 5/9 starting from $20.

In Las Vegas they do not offer the ability to buy 5/9 On live table or if they do then it’s pay vig upfront and I think that may be worse ha than just placing 5/9
