I just got back from a trip downtown. It's hard to get to a happy place sometimes with the slowness of cocktail service. Some things that worked when I was there.
-Bar Canada and the Vue Bar were observed still serving drinks at the tables, at least when I was there.
-I'd get a double shot of rum/coke for the road after finishing up my pizza at Chicago Brewery at Four Queens
    -Liquor stores and plastic cups
-Whiskey Lickers at Binions- The signs say no alcohol to be brought out, sure wasnt' applying when I was there. I'd get a large drink after dinner and out I went.

Golden Gate was awful at drink service when I was there on Wednesday. Two hours of slots and not one drink. They served table players non stop though. The D was fine and so was Binion's. They should really reconsider the "to go drink bars" such as those the D has and Binion's have to serve slushie drinks and cold ones to go. Those aren't sit down locations to begin with. Also all the fat Tuesdays.

Also interesting note on the no taking drinks outside. I didn't abide this rule and so hasn't many so it is interesting for Binion's to post these signs.

I play the backroom where the progressives are at GG. I could wait hours for a drink. Now, after 30 minutes, I'll ask a slot person or manager if there is cocktail service. I get a server within 10 minutes. The interactions have been friendly and have led to continued drink service through the generally lengthy gambling sessions.

This will help next time I go in September! Thanks Wasilla. Glad someone else was on the same boat and happy you found a solution for us all lol. I was in the backroom area also and saw no cocktail waitresses there. I was at the front playing WoF and saw cocktail waitresses but only serving tables and walking past me :( now I know to ask a slot attendant kindly.

I’m thinking I need a cooler backpack, after reading all these trip reports

At the Chicago Brewery, is the bar side open, specifically the living room area for cigar smoking?

Squeaky wheel gets the grease! If areas are dead, i get why they are skipped if they are short. But glad they changed their ways after saying something.

Only the bar itself is closed at the Chicago Brewing Company. The tables and the living room area are open. You still get to choose if you want smoking or non smoking.

Are gift shops open and stocked? I like to leave the room with a tall one while I'm looking for a place to sit and play.

Gift shops at the Cal and Fremont open. I typically buy a bottle of vodka for the room.

I swear I've had several cases where I've settled into a machine and actually waved my arms at a passing CW and she turned her head at just the precise moment to avoid "seeing" me. Really ticks me off.

Last trip to Orleans, they came around frequently, but you almost had to stick your leg out and trip them as they whispered "cocktails?" and rushed on by. More than once I had to get up and tag them.

I haven't been down there in a couple months, but there's also an ABC Store (on the west end of Fremont closer to Plaza) that will all but certainly be cheaper than a hotel gift shop, even one downtown.

Allegedly a couples retreat. Depending on the viral conditions AND food availability. Part of our trips (a great part) is eating excellent fare for "free". Eating "common food" for "free" isn't quite as exciting. :poke:

If I need a drink and I see no waitress around, I ask an employee and then they call for them to come to you. Do not be afraid to ask. Also Golden Gate is small, better to ask an employee so a waitress can come to you. The waitresses are probably not getting a lot of activity at the slots there.
