I'm either going to LV or Tunica July 13. Leaning more towards Tunica right now, I'll have my car, BUT, ask me again after a couple of more beers, VEGAS.

Tunica: No cabs/uber needed and all eating joints are open. Vegas: it's Vegas.

It really depends on when/if my wife gets her new orthotics, and if they work. She will go to Tunica without them, no way will she go to Vegas without them. I figure the risk is the same, where ever we go. We know what we are gonna get in Tunica, since we were there last week, I'm concerened if my favorite machines will be on or off in Vegas.

Either way, still have the flights/room booked for August.

It's not a fun boat. The only thing I'd be out is the flights since I changed these once already. My flight looks relatively empty. Mandalay Bay casino is spaced out so not too concerned there. Cosmo on the weekend is iffy.

Scheduled to leave Sunday the 12th for a week downtown. Game time decision. Wife is encouraging me to go. Not sure how to take that. Plenty of concerns but really need to get away from grinding responsibility.

I am too old to risk it. Las Vegas is the the last thing on my mind right now!!!! I have been to Vegas enough times. I have enough good memories, I will leave it to the young risk takers.

    Very reasoned.

A thought we need to come back to at times: It's not what we might get or what might happen if we do. It's what we might be introducing to others when we get back to the world. We can't forget that larger part of the equation.

Same here. If Nevada comes off of New York State's hot list I'll view that as a good proxy, not for no risk but for indicating reduced risk and a managed situation, like it is here in NYC. If it stays on the list, I'm pushing my trip to late September/early October. If it's still on the hot list list in October, that's not going to be a good sign for Nevada or the country. If on the list in late September, I won't be going and instead I'm thinking about going to a "dude/chick" ranch within a half-day's drive of NYC and spend a week to 10 days learning how to ride a horse, eat well and get a couple of massages. I'm hoping some place like that exists within a four hour drive of NYC. :)

Been back 10 days, feeling ok, think we're going to do it again, just to play out all the FP again, (gonna miss that "double-D" ;)-aw, shiggity, it's back for Jul!!) might be taking it easy up front and hanging in the room.

Off week/off times/different casinos let us keep it moving and stay in spots we were comfortable in, otherwise we'd move on quickly..

Coming in with 5+ different mask options this time, one of em is a nice new flat n95.

As of now I'm still going, as others are depending on me (and my room lol). I have to now use two additional weeks of vacation to quarantine after, which I am happy to do as I'd hate to infect someone. If this was a solo trip I'd cancel. I'm not fearful myself but I don't want to bring anything back and harm someone else, so two weeks of isolation and household projects it is!

I have flights booked no room yet. looking for a deal for 8 nights. So far air BnB apt room with pool looks real good. Only a couple of minutes off the strip. Maybe the Excalibur 10/30 - 11/7 Sure hope SEMA happens or I may get bored.

I finally found a pricey N95 mask system that made me more comfortable about the flights and overall. And my plan was to only play in the middle of the night which is not much different than what I do normally.

But I looked at MGM Springfield yesterday (they're opening the casino next week but not the hotel right away) and I could finally get comped nights. So I booked 10 nights for about $750 all-in. The rooms at MGM Springfield are horrible, but I can live with it.

So now I have end of August reservations at:
CP - Cosmo - Vdara in Vegas
    Borgata - CP in AC
    MGM Springfield

With little else to do in Vegas but gamble and with it having the numbers it does now, it's starting to make a lot less sense to fly 6 hours each way to do the same thing I can drive 90 minutes to do. AC would be a couple hundred bucks less than Springfield, but that's not worth a 5 1/2 hr drive.

I'd hate to give up $311 Mint seats each way, but in this situation, that would be the stupidest reason ever to make a trip.

I'm giving myself until the end of the month to decide, but I'd really rather end the agony.

That's what's exactly driving me crazy. Fly 6 hours to basically gamble, and stay in a couple suites, or take a road trip and stop at multiple new casinos I've never been to and just pay for hotel rooms and get cheaper food without having the crazy spikes (and avoiding airports).

I have a penthouse Skyview at Mandalay Bay and a terrace suite at cosmo, but outside of the rooms and casino, not a ton left. A subdued atmosphere can be found at any of my local casinos.

I honestly have no idea what to do..

Read my recent trip report. I do NOT like this version of a "dumbed down" Las Vegas. They're for your safety , but too many "you can't do this, or you musn't do that".

Don’t suppose you’d consider hauling a cardboard cut out of me around with you everywhere in Cosmo? August is canceled for me :(
