Was going to book at the D and confirmed that they are closing their pool. Just got off phone with them. Unsure if this is going to spread out to other hotels? So sad! Have not seen any official announcement but again did confirm personally with hotel.

Did they say it was only their pool that's gonna be closed?

I just asked if they were closing their pool as I had seen a posting from a guest there currently and wanted to verify myself. Was intending to add on a couple of days downtown to my Flamingo stay. My next call will be to Flamingo to see if CET intends on same action.

No, was going to book because of room offer and then saw information regarding pool that I thought might be useful?

This is going to be my second trip to Vegas ever coming up at end of July and will be 10 days solo...still feeling my way around. Hoping that with play over that time period will have seeded better future offers. I didn't think the D looked that bad?

Is that the parking lot entrance? Asking for a friend.

The D is fine as far as rooms, game selection, and ease of getting to other casinos on Fremont St. Their pool is exactly what you see - small, Motel 6 quality. Nice to cool off in but nothing more.

Sorry no offense (my opinion) but the D pool is not worth going to

Wow! Second trip and going for 10 days! I admire the ambition you are taking. We did a 7 day trip one time and that was almost to much for us. Have fun and be safe. Let us know how it goes!

Thank you! Yes, I worry and obsess overy details especially since going alone...I have not had a vacation in over 10 years unless you count the four days last year flying in to see stepson Marine prior to his deployment. I need this and want this to be relaxing. Of course will be checking items off lists and making new lists. Every night I read these forums and write down a new idea! Love all of you who have gone before to pave the way for us neopeophytes. Thank you!

Dammit! I am due to check in at the GG tomorrow and I planned on using that pool, if only for one hour per day.
Is there anywhere else I can go? I just need some sun.
I have never completely gotten over my bad habit of sun worshipping, but like I said just an hour per day.

My brother loved the pool at Fitzgerald’s (The D) because nobody else was ever there. Lady Luck had a pool like that, you had to walk down two flights of outdoor metal stairs to get to it. He wasn’t looking for cabanas, he wanted to be left alone with his self-serve beverage program. And hold the children.

Pool at Downtown Grand was open to the public, don't know if it still is though.

The D pool reminds of a cheap Motel 6 pool. In fact, most Motel 6 pools are nicer.

Can't say for sure, but with the governor going back to phase 1 opening, bars and pools may be closing again. The D's pool is one of the coldest I've ever been in.
