I could go on a huge rant but I won’t because I don’t want this thread shutdown.

As a lifelong resident of NJ I am furious about this decision. Fine or shutdown the establishments that are not following the rules. Don’t punish all restaurants.

This decision is not fair to the people that follow the rules. It’s also not fair to all of the hard working restaurant owners and employees that are on the verge of losing everything.

Borgata just announced they are not reopening now because of the order. I guess we will see what the others decide.

As is always the case in life, a few idiots ruin things for everyone. There goes my July AC trip for the 5X TC/RC and as much as this sucks, I do get why it's being done (unfortunately).

I'm booked on 7/2 at Caesars. Hopefully they stay open.

I have a strange feeling that Murphy may be revisiting this executive order tomorrow. Living locally there is already major backlash everywhere( on local radio, social media, on the evening news and on Internet forums). The people of NJ are supremely pissed.

@Wallew has it right. Fine or close any establishment that fails to follow social distancing guidelines. After a few closures you can be sure the rest will be watching their clientele like hawks. The employees will want to protect their jobs and the owners will want to protect their businesses. Right now, all these restaurants who have barely been hanging on have restocked all of their perishable foods for reopening. It's like a double whammy.

I dropped by a bar in AC that had recently opened a large area in the parking lot for outdoor dining. One of the workers told me the previous night it was mayhem until closing time, 2 or 3 in the morning. Two bouncers could not control the crowds and it got out of hand. These bar and restaurant owners have bills piling up and the lure of a quick buck is without a doubt clouding their judgement.

The annual AC air show scheduled for August was recently cancelled. But the waves are still rolling in and the water temp is nudging 68 degrees, the point where shrinkage is minimal and I can body surf. There are many non-casino bar/restaurants open, so take a page from the Boy Scout motto and you'll be fine:

    Be Prepared
The Scout motto means that you are always ready to do what is necessary to help others. It also means you are ready, willing, and able to do what is necessary in any situation that comes along. You are also being prepared to live a full and worthwhile life, being a physically fit, honorable citizen of strong character.

Wow. I don't get it. Half the number of seats at the bar. Half the number of tables in the restaurant. Form an entry line. All guests must have a seat, no standing allowed...and go to work.

I'm surprised Borgata is the only one cancelling their opening. No beverages at all on the floor!
I'm sure they can be creative with food/drink outdoors.
Maybe if cancellations pile up more they will decide otherwise.

I agree, I can't imagine CET not following suit. I can't think of anything shitter than losing $1,000 while sober. And for those who use the line of thinking "bring your own alcohol", then it would be $1,200 of my own money lol.

At Bally's Beach Bar, a mask was required for entrance and there were no seats at the bar, but you could walk up and order a drink. Or, you can sit at a table and order from a waitress. Of the bars I've visited, none permit seating at the actual bar, they have tables set up outside. One place (Vagabond) had a couple tables set perpendicular to the outdoor bar along with tables in the parking lot. Once you're seated, masks can be removed.

I am just the opposite. I get the emails but for two years none of my SEVEN STARS benefit offers (e.g,. cruise, annual event, etc.) show up in my online account, which is really annoying. I am pretty site I am missing out on significant marketing offers for Vegas as well. I did almost 7k in TCs one day at the Flamingo in February and that was before the daily bonus. I still get offers for Vegas for 30 in free play, now bumped to 50 dollars.....

And Caesars is open on the 2nd, just not for the general public; that's assuming they open at all this weekend.

Yeah, my guess is the other casinos follow suit. If you are staying it seems like you would have to go outside to get takeout to eat unless the restaurants in the building do take out.

It would be a diminished experience but with it being a holiday weekend and if take outside were allowed I bet CET places would still get big crowds, especially if there is going to be good weather.

I was talking with the wife and decided that we may have to dust off our players cards for the golden nugget. Casino is open, the rooftop area with pool, hot tubs and bar is open to guests and the deck is open with bar and food. It’s probably the best bet given the current limitations.

I was thinking of going this month but if the restaurants are not open I'll skip it.

A tough situation for sure. The Borg did what they believe to be the best decision for them. I cannot see how any casino in AC can open under those restrictions and make a go of it. I hope they sort it all.
