Casinos have been reopened in Vegas for a little over a week. We've had some trip reports here and I've posted some media photos and articles about reopening. So, I'm curious about your attitudes towards traveling to Vegas in the future.

Please remember to keep the comments civil and informative. We will keep this poll open for 5 days.

Only time will answer this puzzle. Our input is just guesses.

I'm not asking for guesses or speculation about caseloads, I'm asking your opinion on when you'll be back in Vegas after seeing the reopening.

I think I’m glad I didn’t book anything for June - I need some time to see how everything shakes out, so by the time I’m set to travel I’ll either feel good about going... or good about *not* going (well, good about my decision not to go, should I feel compelled to make that decision... it would suck to have to cancel again ) :hmmm:

I had to cancel a May trip. I rescheduled for Sept feeling this should all be in the rear view mirror by then. Well, I don't think it will be in the rear view mirror by Sept anymore but I think they will have ironed out the logistics to providing me a 'safer' vacation.

I’m booked in September but sort of wish I was there now. I’m concerned patrons aren’t taking enough precautions and the casinos aren’t enforcing them so it may not be the best place in September. I am hopeful though.

I’m jealous of all the empty streets and casinos and think things might be a bit crowded by September. If they still have machines turned off it may be difficult to play.

I’m a bit disappointed to see that casinos aren’t requiring masks at times when patrons aren’t eating or drinking. And I’m more than a little upset that some casinos don’t appear to be enforcing any sort of distancing guidelines.

But, I have to admit that I’m itching to get back and have been checking on plane tickets for the next few weeks. If I didn’t have a 70-something father who I’ll want to visit after his knee replacement in a few weeks, I think I might have actually pulled the trigger.

Had a Fantasy draft planned for the last week of August in Vegas. I was worried that it wouldn’t become a reality, especially after many of the players in my league have had to back out going due to being out of work. With all the reports prior to Vegas reopening, I thought it would take many months to get some resemblance to how it use to be. With the trip reports and Vegas vlogs, looks like it’s going to come roaring back and I will definitely be there in August.

I will be back in August IF the others in my party are still okay with going. I think we can safely go late night slotting in one resort, visit the pool and generally have fun and stay safe. But a solo trip would be a little too bleak with the current safety guidelines, which I follow. Pai gow poker sounds very different, regular poker also seems strange, and after seeing an entire casino of people in masks, well, it wasn't as fun to solo out.

If not August, maybe February 2021.

Ladies getaway, somewhere on the strip with a pool :)

I chose this with the emphasis on the red:

I'm quite bothered by too much/too little safety precautions - I'm not going back for awhile.

There is less adherence to the health and safety recommendations than I had hoped, so I am no longer planning a trip.

In a way, I’m kinda glad the footage from Cosmo made it so easy to call it off. I got so wrapped up in the possibility of having something to look forward to that I wasn’t really thinking as practically as I should have been. The videos and photos really helped to snap me back.

I'm willing to wait until this fall to head back to Vegas. I'm not so much concerned about COVID as I haven't missed a day of work since the pandemic was called and I manage a retail store but I'm more concerned about how others will act. I can see those who couldn't be bothered to be respectful of other peoples concern by not covering when sneezing or coughing, spitting in garbage cans which are always located near a bank of machines and on the flip side, I can see those who are overly concerned not just commenting but yelling and chastising others for not wearing a mask or doing the things I just described. Doesn't sound like a comfortable atmosphere to me so I'm hoping people relax a little more as time goes on.

It's been great so far. No entertainment yet unless you know where to look. Today we hit 3 casinos. The mrs and me have been helping the local economy as much as we can. We heard some great live music and dinner last night at Tommy Rockers sitting at the bar, drinking and playing bartops. Vegas is most definitely open and we have resumed our retirement.

We have June rooms at harrahs, ballys, Sunset Station. July rooms golden nugget, Paris, and the Cosmo. August we have Planet Hollywood, and harrahs southern Cal.

Can you guess how I voted in the poll?

My option is kind of in there. I'm excited by the TRs but don't think the energy is just there yet. If anything, feels like Vegas is what AC is in the winter. That is, it's just restaurants and food for entertainment. Yeah there's pools but I was hoping for some entertainment at carnival court or a dj at intrigue lounge at Wynncore. And the lack of people makes it kinda boring. I can only imagine finding ladies of the night has become a painstaking process :(

People didn’t seem to be taking precautions seriously so it worries me that I won’t be able to return as quickly as I had hoped.

I am a little hesitant for the trip I have scheduled June 22. I wished more people were wearing masks. I will be the whole trip, if I don’t cancel. One thing I am going to do iwhen I get back is get a Covid-19 test. That way I will know if I need to be quarantined. I will ask my doctor before I go to see what he thinks.

I have $3000 in comp money to spend, and hopefully, another $3300 coming at the end of the year.

It only costs me $100 R/T air fare, and my rooms are all comped.

Despite what I said about "dumbed down" Las Vegas. H*LL YEAH I'm going!!

It's part of life now, what the hell are you going to do, stay in your house for ever???

After my two experiences in two southern US gaming markets (Lake Charles, LA and Biloxi, MS), I'm solidly in the 'meh' camp. People are scared* and it's just hard to provide hospitality when the person supposed to be providing it is scared of their environment and scared of you, the customer.

That said, my work has been off the chain lately. The same things that drove most people away from work had me going double-time.. And I need the time out of my chair and I need to be taken care of. So I'm headed out next Sunday for most of a week. It'll be more pool time than normal and I'll definitely have to break out of the routine that defines the majority of my solo trips, but I'm OK with that.

    * I understand that people have a reason to be scared and I'm not trying to diminish that. My position here is that - justified or not - the fear prevents good hospitality service and that diminishes the value of the Vegas experience - even of the things that are open.
