I loved Kolchak. Darrin McGavin an underrated actor. He chased monsters. The best one was about a vampire. Might have lasted two seasons. I think they ran out of monsters.

"The Night Stalker" was actually a tv movie set in Las Vegas back when ABC had "Movie Of The Week". It became a series called "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" and was set in Chicago. I found the entire series and tv movie on DVD at a Savers thrift store for $3. The film is worth seeing. The series is fun, but hit and miss.

My suggestion: "Lookin' To Get Out". Released in 1982. Jon Voight, Ann-Margaret, Burt Young, and the great character actor Bert Remsen. Lots of Vegas, especially the former MGM Grand, now Bally's. My dad and I saw them shooting it at MGM/Bally's. You really need an appreciation of gambling/Vegas to enjoy it. I think most here will like it.

Here's another vote for 'Kolchak the Night Stalker'. I have both movies and the whole TV series on DVD. I still absolutely love it!!!

And then there was the Plaza, standing in for Biff's, in BTTF II. Definitely obscure.

Same thing in the old Stand tv mini series from the early nineties. Lot of views of the Plaza and actually several good outdoor shots form DT before the canopy was installed

The Las Vegas Story, 1952, starred Jane Russell, Vincent Price, Victure Mature, Hoagy Carmichael produced by Howard Hughes. Lots of early cars, hairstyles and scenes of downtown

Uhh.....I dunno, but I really liked her in Basic Instinct and Total Recall. I think we'd hit it off just fine. On Mars.

@mjames1229 - I think you’ll like it. It was a Michael Mann production, coming off the heels of Miami Vice. Visually stylistic & cool. IIRC it was taken off the air because it was big budget & was up against Bruce Willis’s Moonlighting.

I know poker players kind of think this film ridiculous, but I always liked it. If nothing else, I like seeing some of the old Bellagio.

Stu Ungar died at the Oasis Motel way up the strip past The STRAT —he narrates some of his story from that room. Not sure it's even there anymore. He was one of the greatest card players in history. Movie is just ok.

1977 Clint Eastwood in the Gauntlet had scenes filmed in Las Vegas, including one at the old Ft Apache Caves In SW Vegas. What is fun in this scene is to look at the background that shows all desert, whereas today there is housing and structures everywhere there.

Thanks for this. Just watched it on YouTube. Pretty good at the start then got really depressing. I guess that’s how the guy lived.
