Leaving March 15th to 20th. Hopefully enough restaurants open, but plan on having a more "relaxed" time walking around, hoping around video poker bars, and using tons of hand sanitizer while playing pai gow.

We just cancelled a trip to Orlando. Allegiant credited us with total airfare cost to be used within a year and RCI refunded about 75% of our time share rental and that retained 25% can be applied to a future week if we book by the end of April with travel within the next year.

Now we also have a Vegas week schedule for the second week of May with airfare and car rental through Allegiant again and timeshare through RCI. I fully expect to cancel this trip too since, well you know. Plus my wife and I are mid sixties age and while I am in good shape, wifey has some neck and back issues and tends to be susceptible to respiratory illnesses. Not a good combination so we’ll stay home. I’ve already stopped going to the gym for the next few weeks just to be sure. No need to chance anything at this point.

Gotta admit that visiting a gym at this point is probably contraindicated....

Just cancelled my trip for 3/22. I have no illusions that this thing is going to get any better in the next 8 days. Even if I did go, and even if the resorts were somehow still operating I was going to end up being in a ghost town, probably forced to be drinking in my room, most likely eating room service and, what, just shuffling around playing slots all day with no other entertainment? In Vegas? No thanks.

Super bummed, though. When I get to within a couple weeks of a trip I'm in high hype mode and now I'm a bit crushed. I do realize it's the prudent thing to do, my pharma research facility just shut down today due to this thing (no, we don't do virus work) and who knows how long the shutdown will last. Better to keep that Vegas spend in reserve for "eventualities".

I was supposed to go to vegas at the end of April but I am thinking of rebooking and go next week or the week after. I have to call Hawaiian Air to rebook but they are swamped so not sure when I can get ahold of them. I think HA is allowing rebookings without charge.

Who knows what will happen 6 weeks from now so maybe better to go in the next week or so. I probably won't be travelling until the fall or later and I want to get my credits so I can remain Sapphire in 2021 for Boyd properties.

Good idea (excuse). That's why I haven't been going to the gym the past few weeks, lol.

The last linchpin for us making a change just moved tonight. Swoop up until this point was not playing ball on changes/cancelations. The cost to change the flights was actually more than the tickets themselves. Not a massive hit but hey why toss 550 away for no good reason. They changed their policy and allowed anyone with an existing booking to add their 'modifly' feature after the fact. It allows a one time change for no penalty. I hopped on that right away and added it to our reservation. Now we can make that one time change without a hit to the pocketbook. I am going to wait until next Monday at 7 days out to make the final call. At this point it is highly likely we will push back to a Oct trip. Really sucks as we had a lot of rewards etc but it is what it is. We still will go in 2020. Things are moving all over the place right now so it is hard to tell where it will end up. We are thinking that we will just hit up a few locals with our fifth wheel and make the best of it. This thread has been a fantastic read and is a credit to our little corner of the Internet. Let's all keep it on the rails! Cheers everyone.

Scheduled trip is April 8-13 at Paris then Cosmo. Not cancelling at this point, will continue to watch the situation unfold. Expect it will get much worse in total numbers before it gets better so I'm expecting we will have to change to later in year. Of course developments in Vegas will have a lot to do with any change of plans. Like another poster-catzilla--we have a horde of animals and couldn't get caught in a Vegas quarantine, cat sitters would freak.
Bottom line is I'm betting we will have to wait til later.

    Cosmo closing buffet +3 restaurants,
    https://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/food/cosmopolitan-of-las-vegas-to-temporarily-close-4-restaurants-1980052/
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has announced that it will temporarily close four of its restaurants and a coffee stand, effective Monday.
The outlets are Red Plate, Wicked Spoon buffet, Rose. Rabbit. Lie., Overlook Grill and Va Bene. This is in addition to the decision to temporarily close Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub, effective Friday.
The hotel’s other restaurants will continue normal operations.

Leaning towards cancelling, will decide around Monday.

Yep, same here - and with a complimentary viewing party to boot! It would have been my first, so I'm pretty disappointed. No email or anything from CET letting me know about the canceled event - most likely that "business as usual appearance" that smerrian mentioned.
Oh well, hopefully I'll get that same offer next year...

I cancelled my April trip. I didn't want to deal with the risk of showing symptoms for COVID when I am in Vegas. It would be irresponsible for me to fly back when sick, putting many other people at risk. I would then be forced to be quarantined in my hotel room for 2 weeks which sounds unpleasant and expensive. Not to mention, if I did get sick, I'd rather be sick @ home. At least then if I needed anything, I could have family/friends drop things off on my porch for me while I was quarantined.

So I said I was not going to change my plans. Well plans are on hold. Have to see if our business can survive. If the state or county tell us to shut down who knows what will happen.

Right now trip is still on but hanging by a thread.

We had to cancel a cruise that left March 5 after DH's doctor told him he should not go. Hoping to eventually get a refund, but that is secondary to keeping the old fella safe.

I just cancelled my trip to Vegas 3/31-4/1. I am in the target demographic age wise with a couple minor underlying conditions. But more importantly, I simply can't bring this thing home to my husband. Hopefully I will eventually get in touch with Delta to get credit for our flights.

Next on the agenda is a flight to Florida mid-May returning via a road trip with stops booked in Biloxi and Cherokee. We'll see what happens with this one.

Just changed my flight Amsterdam - Vegas

Was suppose to fly on April 11 but that date is still (just) in the EU travel ban.
KLM offered great service to change my flight without any paying any change fees or change in fare price. As long as my Amsterdam - Vegas flight left on May 31 latest. After that date had to pay fare price difference

    So now i fly May 31 - June 6 :D.

In original booking had non-stop flight in, out had layover in SLC. Now i have both non-stop. Me happy! Have to say amazing service by KLM many many kudos.

11 weeks from now.... fingers crossed.

My lovely wife and I have been taking a mid-April Vegas trip for years. Great weather for our desert and mountain hikes, downtown not too crowded, a perfect bit of relaxation after a tough couple months of work for me. Due to some rescheduling of school related competitions in Texas yesterday we had to move our trip to April 29. Luckily it took less than ten minutes to rebook with SWA, change dates with our host, and reserve a rental car ( saved $50 - whoo hoo!)
I now have a small “window of opportunity” for a quick solo trip in ten days. Really tempted to plunk down some points and $11.20, head to McCarran and Uber downtown for a couple nights.....

Set to fly out in a week for 8 days. If flights are canceled I will do a 24 hour drive. I will add however, I am concerned casinos may be shut down, or will be shut down in the middle of my trip.

So far the restaurant closures at certain locations make sense from a business standpoint as a way of minimizing the risk of spreading, and limiting the number of patrons (buffets, large restaurants, etc). The closure of other, more pricier places like Red Plate make sense as well, because the demand is probably not there - so why staff to keep a place like that open.

Meanwhile, room service will operate as normal, and all the other fast casual eateries will remain open as they can.

If you are healthy and well, given the sanitation procedures in place throughout Vegas and casinos around the globe (I’ve gotten my fair share of emails from local casinos), I would try to support the city as best as possible. The partial reason for these closures is lack of customer demand, while protecting others.

    Good luck everyone!

Then why go? Why risk it?

Vegas will be there when the smoke clears.

So wonderful that you are doing that for your mother. If we are both at the Circa opening, a nice drink is on me. :)
