This is what I worry about, casinos following suit with this and these units to the ENTIRE bar. These games generally suck to play VP on. But many casinos are getting a few seats per bar with these units already, with Boyd and CET leading the way.

I wonder what the pricing is on these units...something tells me Aristocrat may be buying some share.

Hopefully there is a mix of these with the more traditional bartops at most places, be nice to play at the bar with the wife who doesn't care much for VP but loves the Buffalo.

With Aristocrat gaining so much market share in player tracking software, I think it's just a matter of time before IGT, WMS, Konami, etc. slot machines are slowly replaced by Aristocrat titles.

Eh. Their VP machine is awful and not even close to IGT’s level yet. But it could evolve to be better.

Player tracking is important but as long as the games are delivering play at the right price with the easy ability to maintain and reskin someone will buy from IGT, WMS, etc.

Aristocrat is rolling because they have good games like lightning link.

Im pretty sure most are being leased. If casinos' bought though, maybe they would be pushing $8k at least. I thought All Star IIs were like $6500 a few years back. But my memory is not great on this one.

They could put lightning link on bartops in theory.

In reading the article, it seemed plain to me that Aristocrat is involved. Not a bad thing. I don't think I'd worry about losing VP at most bars, at least not in any place that goes for locals.
In a way, I'm almost suprised it took this long. Buffalo is probably the strongest modern day slot branding I know of. I don't play slots much, but when VP is on a bad streak for me, I play it. My LV guilty pleasure I guess!
I don't foresee large VP bars being converted to Buffalo or any other slot though.

I agree, but I'm guessing the daily/monthly lease price is favorable relative to a gameking right now. It really would almost have to be for people to bother with installing a bunch of them.

I would think it is on par with a game king, or maybe less, especially if you installed a whole bar like rampart did. Lol

I assume Rampart got a special deal because they let Aristocrat use it for huge PR

Think its a good move as well. Not really a fan of the current typical VP games at bars.

I wonder if the Aristocrat player tracking software highlights how much more money the casinos make on Aristocrat slots than IGT's bartops. Sounds like a dream to a humble slot manager looking to get the attention of the muckety mucks who only care about the bottom line.

they are surely tracking this already. And they absolutely would track this versus old products to see if it is “worth it”

I’m all for this. Those game king machines at most bars are so boring. More choices is good for the player.

PS rampart sucks. Fun fact they are run by the terrible gaming group.

I struggle to view a casino with possibly the last "Cash King Checkers" in the country in a negative light myself.

As far as who it's run by, we play so little to care about that. Ugh.
