I was on Old Ironsides on two different occasions as a kid/teen, and even then I had to duck below decks, and those who've been on it know it gets WAY low two down. But the officers got the upgraded accommodations ...

Whenever I see an old school sailing vessel I'm just floored at the guts it took to jump into one of these things and head out across the seas. Absolutely floored. I mean, seriously, no WiFi?!?

We were very lucky, as you know. Now we thought it cold while the locals thought it a nice break, but that's all relative. Really only two rainy days and no snow, so, again, we were lucky. During my bike ride this Saturday I sent a picture to my friend in Duxbury. I was in thermals and it was 37 when we started. He sent back a pic of riding to the beach and a screenshot showing it was 66. Too funny.

I worked as a corporate lawyer in the tall building on the right in this picture for 7 years. Came up with stairs from the T stop in the Old State House almost every morning. So this photo brings back some....memories. Mostly not great ones!

    Museum of Fine Arts ...

    Yoshitomo Nara
    Dale Chihuly
Jackson Pollock (and his largest piece ever)
Albert Bierstadt (I've never seen Yosemite like that but, still, just love most everything Bierstadt)
And a boat load more ...

I love this pic. Rastah Lobstah at the Blue-Eyed Crab in Plymouth. Many rums. Great oysters.

We caught a clear day so decided to see a "stone" and then drive out the cape to Provincetown ...

As the backbar notes, they seem to start 'em young in the Commonwealth.

I would want ZERO to do with that drive out the cape during high season. No. Freakin'. Way. And you gotta admit, it's not exactly all that scenic of a drive itself until you get out toward the curled first; Big Sur or A1A it ain't. On the water, yes.

P-town Ferry from the Financial District is the way to get there.

Re: start them young, our 26yo daughter complains when there are too many kids when we’re visiting our local breweries. I told her that tasting rooms and full-on brewery restaurants weren’t a thing when she was drawing outside of the lines on her coloring book.

It's certainly not helpful to you. The ferry doesn't run this time a year anyway. But it could be helpful to someone who goes to Boston in the summer and sees your warning that driving there during high season would be awful (100% true) and that the drive is kind of ugly anyway.
