That's what i heard and that was awhile ago. When we were there in December I don't remember anything happening. And I think it is/was supposed to be the Taco Bell Cantina that serves beer/wine.

The building is still there, windows have been covered up.

I thought they were going to put a food court there.

Jeesh! Don't they have enough food courts in the area?

    Container Park
    Neonopolis (Is this still open?)
    Pawn Stars

I know I'm missing at least one.

Taco Bell there sure would be a busy one. I have nothing against fast food except the REALLY cheap and crappy ones like Taco Bell (horrible) and White Castle (worst burgers ever) farther down FSE.

I'm surprised, as well, that nothing has been done. Who knows, maybe the plans have changed, again. We could tweet Scott at Vital Vegas and put him on the hunt.

Just another tale of greed. Owner of the land, owner of the building and future occupants (Taco bell and Wahlburgers) couldn't make a deal on how to split the profits, so building sits vacant after kicking the indian souvenir store out.

What my mom used to say is that when she was growing up, theaters were the first places to install air conditioning. She said that on a very hot day they would pay something like 15 cents and just sit in the theater all afternoon. This was back when they didn't kick you out after each showing, and always had cartoons, shorts, newsreels and such in addition to the currently playing feature.

There definitely wasn't anything going on when I was there a week and a half ago. I'll be there over SB weekend and take a stroll by but the sleuths have indicated here there may be nothing going on for awhile.
