I am assuming that you can use these ACG coupons once each calendar year per so you do not need to be a new member of the casino “comp” card club. Is that correct? Also, I’m staying at MSS next month and I see some posts that say that the Boyd casinos are sticklers when redeeming the coupons from the book. Any details on that?

Per calendar year, yes. I've never taken the book with me so while it could be possible, I wouldn't worry about it personally.

Coupons that are only for 'new members' of a player's club will state that on the coupon. Very few are only for new members.
Boyd casinos are sticklers in that there is a good chance you may have to show your ACG card to the boothling when redeeming a coupon. The El Cortez limits you to only one coupon per 24 hours. Not that you can use 2 AGC coupons, of course you can't. But if you have an AGC coupon and an LVA coupon you have to come back the next day to use the second coupon. I haven't run into that with Boyd.
Some Boyd AGC coupons say $10 free slot play with $10 slot play. You have to play $10 through the machines on your card before they'll load your card with the free play. If you have an ACG and an LVA coupon each for $10 you will have to play $20 on the machines before they will load your card with the $20.
    Hope that all makes sense.

Used my ACG coupons this past weekend and California and MSS are sticklers with only allowing you to use one "per 24 hours." I couldn't use it with a LVA coupon either. One lady told me I could wait until after midnight to use another...another lady told me I had to wait 24 hours and not just after midnight. I'd waited over 24 hours, so don't know which it is. None asked me to see my AVG card, although I had book in my hand. All asked for my Boyd card and my ID.

We were at the MSS and Fremont Buffet, we went to use the coupon and had to show the BOOK, card, players card and coupon. This was in October.

Glad I don’t play downtown, obviously person at desk doesn’t understand the difference between ACG and LVA as they’re combining the different rules for the books as one. You need the book with LVA and you only need card with ACG.

We were just at MSS, used the ACG coupon for breakfast and the cashier took my coupon and didn't even ask for my players card. I presume this was not the norm. LOL

Policies may be different for match play gambling coupons vs buffet 2 for 1s. The rules traditionally have been much more strict regarding the match plays and possibly more so this year. They are tracked in your account and you exchange for a voucher at the booth and limited to 1 coupon of each type per calendar year, whereas I don't think the food coupons are. Most places you bring a food coupon directly to the cashier.

My experience at MSS was I had to redeem the ACG coupon at the players desk to get a buffet voucher and then redeemed the voucher at the buffet along with my players card. I wish I could just hand the ACG coupon straight up at the buffet but I kinda understand why they do it this way.

It says right on the coupon, just show it to the cashier. You do not need to go the Players Club.

I also thought you had to go to the Players Club, then I read the coupon. Saved me lots of time. LOL

I waited in buffet line at mss for 15 minutes. Got to the front and was sent to the players club to exchange coupon for buffet pass. When i came back the line was about a half hour but luckily they waived me to the front of the vip line. Still them sending me away was a pain cost me a extra ten minutes.

That was my experience as well in October.

I used virtually every downtown ACG & LVA gambling and many meal coupons in October. The Golden Gate was the only place that asked to see a signed ACG card.

Boyd player's club desk employees bat a little below the Mendoza line when I have pitched questions to them over the years. They're johnny on the spot if you try to use two coupons at once though.

I hear you. Iin their defense, the rules are often very complicated. When I have tried some kind of finagle and the computer prevents me from doing it and/or I got reprimanded for it, I usually learn the rule quickly and remember it. When I have to slog through a long document to understand something, without an actual use case, it's often much harder to think through scenarios.

I think they took the new member rules out, I was able to redeem (2) coups at Fremont this year.
