Finished up at the museum, had the pleasure of seeing Mark Hall-Patton again (“beard of knowledge” from Pawn Stars). Instead of his usual outback hat, he was sporting a sharp-looking top hat made of felt. I don’t know if “gentlemanly swagger” is a thing... but if it is, he’s got it down pat. I wanted to get a selfie with him... but from what everyone at the museum tells me, he hates the attention from being viewed as a celebrity - so out of respect I didn’t ask.

Back at Eastside Cannery now. Told the front desk I’m taking them up on their offer to check me out at no charge, since I don’t really need to be in Henderson anymore this trip. It’s probably for the best... I’m certain I’d have lost my cool with the GM if she took the same attitude the front desk manager took with me.

Booked at Four Queens for about the same price, about to head up there now. I’m still pretty stuffed from Juan’s... so I’ll have a light bite to eat, and then it will be time to turn that $500 into $1,500.

I use the notes app in my phone to make notes for my trips. I don't go as far as my ex gf did where she made check boxes and each thing by the day, but I do have a note for the things I want to remember.

Checked into Four Queens no problem. Gotta love that view! I can hear the band playing, but I wouldn’t consider this noisy at all.

Feeling very good about this decision right now.

    -Damn that looks good.

-I still didn't check out the Clark County Museum yet but definitely want to and for $2 only... that's a bargain.

-I'm still pissed at United for such a ridiculous change flight fee. Just check American and Delta and they charge the same $200. They win now but cost themselves customers in the future who next time will go with Southwest or others that don't have the fee or have one which is much more reasonable.

Used my $25 The D/GG food and beverage comp for a brisket sandwich from Project BBQ and an IPA from Golden Gate. $14 and $7 respectively. The sandwich was good, but didn’t taste like a $14 sandwich.

Gaming off to a good start. Ahead by $53 playing double deck blackjack at MSS. Taking that profit to video poker now.

    Dealt. Not bad.

    Meh.

8.5% of the way there. Time to take a long shot on slots.

So this buffalo machine didn’t treat my $85 or the other $100 I put in it too well. That disappeared in about five minutes. Best hit below.

Then went on tilt on blackjack and was in for $300. Just cashed out “even” on that one. So I’m now down $100. Time for some more slots.

Welp, that was a bust I’m afraid. $30 down playing $5 slots. Best hit...

Then another $70 down playing $1 video poker. Nothing more than a three of a kind. Thus, no photos.

Then the other $300 disappeared playing blackjack. Funny enough, it wasn’t even my usual deal of “winning the small hands and losing the big hands”. They were hitting about evenly. What was getting me this time was constantly losing on stiff hands. In 2-3 hours of blackjack play, I don’t think I got a 20 or 21 at all when hitting a 15 or 16. I was also constantly busting on 13s. Have that happen a few times in a row on bigger bets, you’ll have an awful downward swing.

The good part is, with 100% of my play being at Main Street Station, this should translate into some decent comp love. I hope, anyway.

I also met a “lurker” of the board at one of the blackjack tables who recognized me and said he was following this report. J from Chicago... hope you won big man! Nice to meet you.

That’s mostly it for gaming for this trip. It’s marginally possible I may play a bit at Ellis Island tomorrow evening. I could even end up playing bingo at Plaza at some point tomorrow evening too. But with tomorrow being my last full day, my main focus is on the three central events of breakfast at Oyster Bar at Palace Station, Qua baths at Caesars Palace, and dinner at Rao’s after with Astribling. Everything else is unplanned. Side note... for at least one of those trips, I’ll be pushing to use Trip to Strip. I don’t want to leave town without at least trying it.

Despite having a terrible night of gaming, I’m happy as a clam as I lay on my bed at Four Queens with this view of the Fremont canopy which I’m about to block out to get some sleep.

Hope tomorrow will yield some fun results. Now off to sleep for hopefully six hours or so.

Enjoying the report and all the pics as usual, nice to see more of a downtown and other perspective that I rarely see since I always plan to leave the strip during my trips but get to drunk and lazy to do so. I will say that I would love to only lose a few hundred a night while there, with my luck that wouldn't be terrible but rather, a great night of gambling lol.

After that Buffalo to home fiasco I hope you consider getting a drivers license. The freedom it brings alone is well worth it.

    NFC,
Did you watch enough of the FSE show to form an opinion as how much the new lights improve the show?

That view is awesome! I can't sleep in Vegas anyway so noise would not be an issue for me lol.

The view is awesome. If they could make it a sound proof room I'd be in.

Agreed. I only saw a section of it in June but could immediately tell the difference. Much much better

I was able to notice it because I was looking for it... but it didn’t jump out at me as “something is different”, if that makes any sense.

Today is in motion. Just got driven to Palace Statjon in a sweeeeeet Mercedes. And that’s coming from someone who knows literally nothing about cars. The guy was playing some pretty awesome music too. Currently got this track stuck in my head...

The line at Oyster Bar isn’t too bad at all. I figure this will take about 30 minutes. I can smell the seafood from here and I’m pretty sure my face is turning into the heart eyes emoji.

So it would appear. Project BBQ and the main bar at the Golden Gate accepted it no problem.
