I'm staying 2 days in April with my wife and we want to stay on the strip with a nice room, but also have good food at a good price. We like Wynn and Aria/Vdara but both are lacking majorly in the affordable food department.

What strip hotel offers nice rooms with good views and also a good assortment of affordable food?

We're thinking Cosmo but it's a bit out of budget. Maybe Planet Hollywood? Or Linq?

Why do you need to eat where you're staying? Stay in the nicest property within your budget, and then go to restaurants that are within your budget.

I rarely eat where I stay. Too many good options elsewhere.

However, if you're an Italian food enthusiast, I would suggest Park MGM, because they have Eataly.

Linq/Flamingo/Harrahs all have tons of reasonably-priced eateries within an easy walking distance.

Can you charge back to your room at MGM properties if you dine at Eataly?

We spend most of our time at or near our resort, especially when drinking. It's just easier.

Any of the CET center strip area properties on the east side either has cheap eats or is spitting distance from fast food joints and food courts of all kinds. Kind of depends what you consider a good room, good view, and cheap food. Ballys has some somewhat good fountain view rooms in Jubilee tower and lots of fast food choices in their own food court, plus the Bazaar shops right out front with a few more food options. Or paris where you got Eiffel view rooms with great fountain views, or planet Hollywood if you can get a strip / fountain view room. Really depends on which specific room you get. If you just want a view of the strip and dont care about a fountain view center strip then there are plenty more options.

I'd suggest planet hollywood. They have decent regular rooms. All renovated with big bathrooms and reasonable priced eats in the mall or casino.

NYNY also has a lot of reasonable food options but the rooms are a little dated but i like the vibe of the casino

I’ll suggest Mandalay Bay/Delano. There are over 30 places to eat or drink between the two areas plus the Shoppes at Mandalay place. The Delano rooms are full suites, and overall the property is underrated, mostly due to location.

If MB sat where NYNY or Flamingo sits, it would be one of the top properties in town.

Harrah's. The buffet is pretty good and reasonably priced plus you have the Oyster Bar and the large food court with good quality food. Ruth Chris is more expensive but it is a nice steakhouse while being one of the least expensive on the strip.

Disagree slightly on the Aria front. One of their F&B advantages is that they have something for all budgets, unless you look for food courts.
The Pub, Five50, Serrano, Burger Lounge are fairly reasonable.

It also depends on what the definition of "affordable" is. I think the Aria options are eminently reasonable, though certainly not "cheap". You're not getting dollar slices of pizza or $5 entrees, but they're generally not gouging. The other plus to Aria is that many of their outlets are open for lunch, which is something a lot of other places are sorely lacking.

PH and Linq both have great food options, but I wouldn't call them any more "reasonable" than most other places on the Strip. You're still looking at $15-20 minimum per person for most meals. I do like that Mexican place at PH which I can never remember the name of, and Sticky Chicken at Linq was surprisingly good. But the price isn't something they're competing on.

Honestly $15-$20 per person per meal is fine.

@Jidery we love to splurge on Vegas trips and have a loose budget (we're frugal the rest of the year), but it kills us to go over $20 pp on meals. There are just so many stellar food options in Vegas, you CAN find some great affordable food options, so I don't want to pay through the teeth.

We are OK with up to $20 pp, but we still want GOOD, made-from-scratch, borderline foodie food.

We love Aria. Totally agree on food though, not many mid-tier options. Bellagio, removed most mid-tier.

MGM was either better/expensive dining or food court.

The two that really hit our thumbs up on affordable, pseudo-foodie food options, Cosmo and Mandalay Bay.

Cosmo is our favorite on food (The Henry, Holsteins, Secret Pizza, Wicked Spoon, Milo's lunch special, China Poblano, so many great AFFORDABLE options) but yes, rooms are pricy, you'd have to watch their off nights. Mandalay Bay we also really liked on food. Citizens is SOLID, and under $20 a plate. They also have Border Grill which has an epic brunch I still need to hit, and a bunch of other little solid places between MB and Luxor.

Cosmo and Aria are our first pick for hotels, but are pricey. Mandalay Bay is one of THE best values on the strip to me. One of the best standard rooms, great blend of food options, beautiful decor.... just a great blend of quality and value.

So, long story short, Cosmo and Mandalay Bay are my top picks for great hotels with great midtier food options! (But I am a Cosmo/Mlife gal, can't speak to CET.)

    Good luck and have fun!

PS Just saw my little Aria/MB BFF (@spicole) nailed it, that if MB was where Flamingo was location-wise, it would be one of THE top properties. (And don't worry @spicole I know we are not BFF's like @martinr and @jpw711 , but I still think your posts rock!)

Bally's has some of the largest standard rooms on the strip, and even though it's been several years since the Jubilee tower was renovated, they are holding up well. Lots of good and (relatively) cheap eats out front.

The Valley rooms are Harrahs are relatively new and quite nice. Plenty to eat that's reasonably priced nearby.

This. Completely agree. MB/Delano is underrated due to location but we find it pretty easy to get around from there. There is also a food court at Mandalay (bit of a hike though) with some decent selections. The entire complex has food options from high end, low end and in between and also several bar and lounge options. Since you like to hang close to home MB/Delano is a great option.

Excellent, thanks very much. Will use my Nomad RCs up there next month.

I want to try La Pizza & La Pasta, as it looked really good in Derek's video.
