OK, dinner at Jerry's Nugget. No line at 8:30PM on a Thursday night.

OK, the "doneness" of the prime rib had much to do with the taste. Medium rare was just right, and I could have the flavor enhanced even more by selecting "rare and blackened", which they would take a rare piece and sear it.

Anyway, this was the "thick cut" that I ordered last night.

$40.00 including tip. I paid cash, conserving my comps and because I didn't play. However, I ate less than half and couldn't take it home, so I thought, why not offer it to some friends? They graciously accepted it and I dropped it off at Gold Coast.

Thank you for posting all of these reviews, and especially of Jerry's Nugget for the prime rib! I've probably checked my Vegas planning notes about half a dozen times now to make sure getting prime rib at Jerry's is in there, and now I've gone back once again to edit it to add "rare and blackened" to ensure I get it that way. Prime rib is by far one of my favourite foods, and I cannot thank you enough for fixing the poor first impression I got of Jerry's prime rib the one time I went there.

    Like NFC, I thank you!

I never thought about asking for blackened prime rib.

OMG! Did you eat all of that in one sitting? I'm assuming that this is the "medium" cut, correct? That appears to be TWO cuts that I would call "thick", at least by my standards!

Someone recently posted a pic of the 48-52oz prime rib there ($55). This is the "double cut" on the menu. The thick cut is the 28-30oz ($28). Odd pricing, in that the thick cut has a lower, per ounce, price over the larger cut. Maybe charging a premium for the bragging factor of getting this family size piece of meat.

If I had not personally once witnessed the serving of this at another table, I would have said that is photoshopped!

I've dubbed this the "Cardiologist's Nightmare" cut! :)
