    Interesting.

Just to clarify about tables - they give ECs for table play at Beau Rivage, Gold Strike, Borgata, MGM Grand Detroit, MGM National Harbor, and MGM Springfield. Which I never realized before (or didn't remember). I've never been to any of those places.

But there's nothing in their notice that says they're going to start giving EC's for table play in Vegas.

Yeah also seem to me that’s how I understand, that Vegas mgm property’s would follow above mentioned casino rules which means they would offer EC on table games (I believe they used to few years back) since I play table games local mgm I do earn EC on table games then I used them at Vegas which works out great for me.

With this new re-align of TC and whatever for MLife, did I just get completely screwed out of all my TC I earned this year?!... and even more frustrating the TC I earned during the last week of September.

I stayed 3 nights at the Bellagio the last week of September and probably earned like 75k TC, which had me like 10k from Platinum ... is that all just gone now?! If I look at my account I show 0 TC, despite earning them a week before they reset everything. Is there any way to adjust that?!

You were not screwed. Oct 1st has been the reset date for years. (unlike Jan 1 for many programs). As much as I am not very thrilled with various aspects of Mlife program, this one is.... well... just the way it is.

And, as a former Plat, being at Gold is not that big of a loss. You still have that.

I agree, but its the fact between July and September I had earned 185k or so TC, a good chunk of which came between August 15th and Sept 27th ... had I known, and maybe my bad for not doing more homework, I would have rather done the TR tier match and thrown that cash at CET to keep Diamond there vs. going back to zero at Mlife. I was under the impression that TC were on a rolling annual clock vs. a hard deadline set by MGM. Example - 100k TC earned on 2/15/19 were good until 2/14/20. 50k TC earned on 6/2/19 were good until 6/1/20.

    Bummer.

I do not think any casino program does a rolling year.
Same with airlines and hotel programs. I read often about people that just missed the next tier level each year and did not realize it and one more trip or stay would have put them up a level.

Mlife of course is different by using that Oct date vs Dec 31st

Yeah, unfortunately mlife has never been that way. But you weren't screwed in any way. If you made plat before October 1, you're still plat until October 1 next year

That’s a rough one to have attained 185 TC’s just 15k shy of 200k for Platinum. Sorry that happened but it has always been Mlife policy that TC’s are reset to 0 on Oct 1 each year which begins a new earning year. I got burned once and now keep close track of TC’s since I try to keep Plat, I time my trips to my advantage.
If I know I’ll make another trip that year but haven’t hit Plat yet, I go in Sept rather than say Oct/Nov. However, I don’t plan an extra trip just to make Plat, it’s not worth it.

Hope things work out better for next year if you stay with mlife.

I stand corrected. Cosmo does do a rolling year. With a slight twist compared to others meaning it is only good for one year.

HOW DO I PROGRESS TO THE NEXT TIER?
You progress to the next tier when you’ve earned enough tier points over the previous 365 days (4,000 tier points for Sterling, 20,000 tier points for Gold, 50,000 tier points for Platinum).

HOW LONG WILL I KEEP MY TIER?
You’ll maintain your tier status for 365 days after achieving it—unless, of course, you earn enough points to progress to the next tier.

Just posted my trip wrap-up: https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/boxofbirds-10-10–10-14-live-trip-report.167080/page-4

FWIW I played a majority of full-pay Bonus Poker, with a bit of slots (maybe 20% of my play?), and got about $9 in Points vs $6 in Express Comps. Before the change I would have gotten $9 of each.

Thanks for this info @nostresshere. I realized after my last trip that I had reached platinum by 52 points (I was not tracking & was fine with Cosmo gold status). So I will retain platinum for 1 year even though points earned in the prior year will roll off for each month, dropping me below the platinum 50k # at some point, is that correct?

(sorry for the side discussion...should be short.)

Yes. If you advance your tier, your anniversary date should reset to the day you reached Platinum. And you stay Platinum until that date.

I also want to report my similar experience last week.
I played VP only, different games at different Mlife casinos, ususally their best games in the house at $1 level.
I earned total 13K TCs, which seems reasonable.
Before that change, I would have earned 1300 base points and $13 EC.
But now I only have $2.12 EC in my Mlife account.
I didn't spend any EC during the trip, in fact I didn't even finish my Resort Credit from the offer.

The bottom line is, for VP players, the EC earning rate is severely lowered than before.
I can't figure out the earning rate now, it becomes a black box.

You still earn the points like before correct? Just lower ECs?

So, 13k TCs all on $1 VP ($5 max bet) would be $13k coin in. I’m guessing at the $1 level that’d be games like 7/5 Bonus (98.01%) or 9/5 Job (98.45%) or 9/5 DDB (97.87%) I’m guessing you wouldn’t play anything worse than that at the $1 level...

So, $2.12 in ECs based off that coin in on those games would be an earn rate of .016% in ECs. I think that’s correct...

Yup, you still earn points at the normal rate, the rate for EC is the only thing that has changed

Wow, I earned a lot more ECs in comparison to you. I only earned 33% less than normal for my play, but I also played a bit of slots. I wonder if my small amount of slot play was enough to make up that difference? What casinos did you play at? Maybe the rates are set differently in different machines? I played at Aria and Park MGM, and I played 8/5 bonus poker at single and triple line dollars.

    The mysteries continue! :hmmm:
