Ha! Once again, I was kind of in the same "boat." But I booked the CR Atlantis trip for Christmas because I am 1000% sure Thanksgiving will be my last Vegas trip for a while due to work and a few other commitments. My cruise is in March, and that's going to be a long cold stretch in between!

The solution to Post-Vegas Depression is to have your next trip booked before you leave on the current one. Doesn't matter how far ahead it is, as long as you have it in your vision.

I definitely agree that having another Vegas trip on the books helped me a lot in dealing with my once stressful and shitty job!

I get that way after every vacation, but hey, that’s why vacation exists. If it wasn’t a desirable break from everyday life, there’d be no reason to go. I do think it’s worse coming back from Vegas, though. The constant lights and sounds of Vegas are such a sensory overload that upon returning everything seems dark and quiet.

This a million percent. We are very lucky to have a good life back home, but every time we get back from Vegas, we are in deep rinse for two days...and bummed for a couple weeks.

I know it's going from "do what we want, when we want, how we want" in Vegas, living like kings, back to being peons in the grind.

We are lucky to have good jobs with great coworkers, but the more years on our tires, the more it feels like chubby little hamsters running as fast as we can on our little hamster wheel.

Well, you know what they say, if it was fun, they wouldn't call it work, they'd call it vacation!

Bottomline, post Vegas blues are real, and I hope yours clear soon @Astribling ! Start planning your next trip and get that countdown timer up!

Las Vegas is the best place to live any version of an alternative life. Can’t beat that. I have my next 3 vegas trips booked and coordinated with GF and work.

Well, I can definitely say that booking another trip does help the PVD! I got my new trip booked yesterday, flight and rooms, and I've been in a great mood since. LOL So there ya go! Always have a trip on the books!

Unless and until you have your life turned upside down by actual Bipolar syndrome and have to take two medications a day and see a Shrink every 3 months and have to daily endure the emotional flip flops of being ready to rip someone's head off to sitting in the corner and whining or lose the ability to laugh to constantly seeing incoming mortar rounds 50 years after the fact, then please refrain from equating your unhappiness over your just completed Las Vegas vacation to actual mental illness.

Amigo, maybe time for a few days away from here and hopefully some chill time out fishing.

Right now as it stands I can only get 1 trip per year. I'd happily do more but my wife wants to spread out our vacation to differing locations. I get in a funk when we get back as I know it is going to be a year until I get back, but I turn my attention to our other vacations.

My next Vegas trip is already booked before I leave. I have "to do" lists for before and after the trip, so there's stuff to occupy my mind.

I just live through VMB. If I can't be there I can be on VMB.

I agree with your sentiment here, but I don't think anyone is comparing being sad you aren't in Vegas anymore to PTSD or other mental illness. It's a light-hearted topic, that could be seen as somewhat insensitive to people with actual mental illness.

I think that the people participating here are commiserating about something we have all felt after a Vegas trip in good spirits, not attacking mental illness. I'm sure no offense was intended.

Agree 100%. This thread has been going for over a year and the OP even said he was inventing an acronym, not comparing it to any actual mental illness

As others have said, book another trip. For me, the PVD is worse on the fall trip, because winter is coming. I hate winter, and I live in Minnesota. Need I say more!

I am busy planning my trip to New Orleans and Biloxi for next June.
