As a San Diego local, I’ve been playing weekly at Viejas for the past couple of months since the shuttle service (I don’t drive - multiple lifelong medical issues make it a bad idea) and VP are good :) I’ve been putting in $5-6K coin-in on average when I go (reasonably good results so far, especially considering no Royal yet). Customer service (restaurants, drink service, cashier/club, etc.) is generally quite friendly; I do wish the food options were a bit more varied, or just better - the regular Cafe and sports bar/grill are good, the buffer not so much :( while the steakhouse is supposed to be good but rather steep for my wallet  I have yet to give the pan-Asian place a try - maybe that will be my goal next visit besides getting that Royal of course :D The hotel(s - there is the main hotel and an adults/suites-only offshoot) seem(s) nice but I haven’t had the inclination (or the comp - lol maybe if I was a slots player they would want me to stick around ;)).

For those here who play at the SoCal casinos, especially those in the San Diego area, do you think I may have a better experience playing somewhere else? It seems like the VP options are best at Viejas, Barona, and Valley View; if anybody has particular insights as to other good VP options, that would be greatly appreciated  Also any insights about players’ club/offers/mailers, dining, and customer service would be lovely - thanks upfront :)

Have you looked at www.vpfree2.com ? They list almost every casino in the country and what the best vp games are at the casinos.

I have, yes - that is how I ended up playing at Viejas :) However, it does seem like people on some forums do not like vpFREE, including those who seem like they may be more “in the know” - they don’t want the really good plays to be known :rolleyes2: From what I can tell by my cursory poking around at Viejas it seems like one option it mentions is no longer around and a very good option that is available is not listed... :hmmm:

vpfree2 depends on players who use their site to let them know what updates should be made. But of course not something that is so good that it's better not to publicize it.

Agreed to a point, but I have difficulty imagining a situation now where there’s some magical hidden-secret 103% base paytable out there - casinos know what they have on the floor, and whether or not they plan on keeping it there. It seems silly and potentially counterproductive to not share info about the moderately good stuff that’s left

I would think Viejas would have offered you room comps long ago. 10+ years ago Rincon used to send me lots of room comp offers (several of them I took them up on) for playing hundreds of dollars. I would expect you to get steak house offers at Viejas too playing $5-6K....

I totally agree about sharing moderately good video poker and I think most players would also. I haven't seen any 103% base paytables but plays (including promos, mailers and other benefits) that earn a high hourly rate can be very attractive. Casinos are much better than they used to be about knowing their inventory.

Maybe almost always playing 99.92% JP during point multiplier promotions has led to sparse offers :jester: The promotions are different in October - no point multipliers as far as I know - so if I put the same coin-in maybe I’ll see an uptick in offers? I guess I’m about to find out

So I have weekday (Mon-Thurs) comped room offers now (not that it means much really - November promos don’t really make it worth taking time off work to hit them up :hmmm:)...

Still a bit vexed about how the offers are set up so that one would have to come in multiple days a week to maximize them, which would be fine if I didn’t have a demanding job *and* chronic health issues :( In terms of coin-in at least (it seems like Viejas aligns point/coin-in total with the level of offers pretty closely... they don’t seem too hung up on ADT from what I can tell), I should be seen as a customer they would want to accommodate at least somewhat. I just started playing there halfway into their tier determination cycle, and I will be over halfway to their Gold status by the end of the period... maybe I can see if I can be granted Gold based on my play after my upcoming session Friday? That would qualify me for access to a host, which may help with being able to somehow get all those weekly benefits or even something kinda-sorta equivalent... I think I shall at least try
