Like the Orleans. Hate the Resort Fees.
What I am doing now is just staying the comped nights at the Orleans and staying the rest of the trip at the 4 Queens.

Orleans is my "home away from home." And, for whatever reason, my offers have increased since they made their changes. I like Sam's Town too.

I love the Tuscany and agree that the café food is good and a good price as well, not seen the Rat Pack yet but hoping too next trip. Also every Royal I have hit has been at Tuscany.

Red Rock is my go to, lots to do in immediate area. Palace Station is a close second, easy to get to and out of. Great eats at both. Gaming is good.

Those of you that have read any of my posts know that we are huge fans of Southpoint and AZC Decatur.

This last trip we ventured to North Vegas and played blackjack, roulette, bingo and slots at. Jerry's Nugget. The service here and the bakery are without question the very best in Las Vegas.

Without fail every single person we interacted with made us feel like they wanted us to be there.

The prime rib special is ridiculous and WAY too big!

For gambling and inexpensive dining, I have always liked Ellis Island. However, I was there today and could find no full pay (99.54%) JoB machines. I looked pretty hard and the best I could find was a bank that included some 9/5 games. That's a real shame and dampens my recommendation for Ellis Island.

Red Rock is good but i've never seen any reasonable room rates and i'm never got any good offers. Suncoast is a 5 min ride from it and its a Boyd property. Shuttle to downtown (or a quick uber ride). Very cheap and clean rooms.

I had the gambler's steak special and thought that it was large, but that prime rib is GINORMOUS!!! Wowza!

I had the one in the middle, it was about 1.5-2" thick, 1 rib bone. The wife had the 1/2-3/4" "small one" The large is 2-3" think and two ribs thick. Beside that it was also tasty.

as a person who has never gone to any of these off strip places, I will venture to a few of them as I just reserved a rental car for the first time. The Idea of driving in Vegas made me skeptical with the Strip Traffic but I will try it.

Most likely I will hit up Aliente, M Resort, GVR. Any other suggestions? I got a teaser for Red Rock which I will take in November so not sure if I have to go there for this trip.

    Any food suggestions?

Aliante is fun, but it's not worth a special trip. If you are more or less in the area, like coming back from Valley Of Fire or something, it's worth stopping however.

The big problem with Aliante is that there's no real convenient direct route from the Strip or anywhere in the area. You will either need to take the expressway out to the beltway and then to Aliante, or local streets which are slow and sloppy. M is right off of the expressway, GVR and Red Rock are quicker beltway trips. Orleans is a quick trip from the Strip. Sams Town (and ES Cannery and Boulder Station and such) are fairly quick on Flamingo or DI.

No point in renting a car if you're not going to go off strip. I hate driving, but found Vegas one of the easiest cities to navigate. The entire city is a grid. Figure out your major streets and you'll never get lost!

I am kind of getting sick of the strip crowded people bad games and over priced food. I only go there for freeplay offers and free rooms. But I def feel like I want to start establishing relationships with other places that make me feel more comfortable. Gonna try to plant some seeds this trip.

If you're going to the M, definitely stop in at South Point and maybe Silverton. Those are all in that South Strip(ish) area.

Same, stopped at South Point for the first time just to stall our Cosmo check in and was rather impressed. Also like it as a stop on the drive in.
A degen friend of mine that used to be a local loves Red Rock, going to have to give that a try some time.

Market Street Cafe at the Cal Prime Rib special for $9.99. Also comes with unlimited salad bar and cherries jubilee for dessert. I had it twice this week.
