A good while back, there was a post on VMB with pics of this shortcut. This has been the #1 Vegas shortcut that I've used over the years. (Thanks mystery VMB member.) The directions were easy to follow, but I couldn't find the post to share with others. These pics show the shortcut to from Harrah's reception to Venetian. Just reverse if going from Venetian. It took me 6 minutes from the Valley elevators to the entrance of the Venetian food court.

    HARRAH'S TO VENETIAN.

    1. Exit the reception area and go to the left.

    2. Enter the Bus and Rideshare area.

    3. Walk almost to the end of rideshare and you will see a sign on the left for a pedestrian crossing to Sands Expo.

    4. Use the crosswalk to enter Venetian garage. Please be careful as you just enter the garage. There is a stop sign for the crosswalk, but some drivers blow through it. Coming from the other way you are easily visible.

    5. Follow the crosswalk to the elevator bank.

    6. Go to the 3rd floor. ( Some elevators continue up into the tower and have a different panel. )

    7. Following the signs, make 2 lefts after exiting the elevator area.

    8. Follow the corridor toward the coffee bar.

    9. About 10 yards before the coffee bar, the entrance to the FOOD COURT is on the right.

    10. To the CASINO, do a jog around the coffee bar and there are escalators to the casino.

Does this save more than a minute from just walking on the sidewalk on LVB?

YES, it saves a lot of time because you don't have to go through the gridlock in front of Casino Royale. It's also almost completely shaded, which is great this time of year.

During the day maybe, not sure I’d walk alone through a parking garage at 2am.

Gary that is really helpful for me. It will save loads of walking, especially in the heat. I love Venetian so it is great to know this shortcut. Thanks again:)

It’s a well lighted area, and security is at the crosswalk going into the Venetian all the time.

I had posted about it before, but this is a great shortcut. I only wish I had this information when I was there on my first day a while back and had friends staying at the Venetian. We did eventually figure it out, and I guess it's ok to know about the long way as well because it takes you past some different things. The bad thing was, one of the friends had some luggage in tow and not all of the walkways going up the hill were in working order. I didn't see any elevators. And the other bad thing was we couldn't even remember which way we came in and somehow ended up at the convention center before finding our way out and walking even further than we did before in order to get back to Harrah's. But we eventually did figure out the shortcut by day two or three--and I never have to go the long way again. This isn't just a useful tip from those staying at Harrah's but also for those taking the monorail from somewhere else and getting off at Harrah's/The LINQ station.

The only thing I didn't remember was how to get to the casino floor from the food court, so this is helpful.

Thank you for this little pass. I love the little short cuts through Vegas. Sonja post a thread a while back about little tricks you have learned in Vegas ( I loved it)!

A great way to stay out of the heat. On our next trip we are staying a Wynncore for at least part of it. This will cut down on some steps when heading centre strip.

I'm not sure what tower you're staying in but my friends were in the Venezia tower and that was a short trip--once we found the shortcut, of course.

In your case, you'll be staying in the valley tower, which has its entrance closer to the lobby. The other tower is currently under renovation. If you like high rooms, see if you can get a room on the 24th floor or higher. This will reduce your wait time as that set of elevators "starts" at the 24th floor.
