Was playing a Buffalo Diamond over at Cosmo and it had this posted on the machine.
I've never seen this posted anywhere before. PS - I wish it had a persistent bonus!

What's a persistent bonus? I've hit bonuses on various games over the time, almost always the on video slots so they are interactive or free spin bonuses that usually take a few to several minutes to resolve but after that it was back to the game as normal, what's the difference? Thanks!

Maybe it is like the Ultimate X machines where you get a multiplier for the next hand. Believe it or not there are a lot of grifters in Las Vegas that go from machine to machine looking if someone has left the machine/game with multipliers on it. The next person that sits down can put money in and have a head start with the multipliers.

I once saw a grifter/dirtbag/angle shooter homeless guy doing this at Excalibur. A drunk kid was playing a 5 play Ultimate X machine, the homeless guy was encouraging him to play max bet quarters, then when he won a hand that gave him multipliers for the following hand the guy was telling him to cash out and play a different machine. He was hoping the kid would leave the multipliers on it. That's when I stepped in, had words with the grifter, and ultimately called over security and they 86'd him.

Since this game shows how many free spins it gives at each multiplier, I could see why it would invite vultures who might persuade people to leave their machine when it’s up to 150 free spins @ 4x.

Interesting, that seems like the kind thing that would reset once a player card was inserted or removed (granted that wouldn't cover the drunk kid probably not playing with a card in KingBBInLV's story).

Not much different than adding to a progressive in my opinion. Previous players can impact your win. Odd note

Buffalo Diamond Slots: How the Progressive Free Spins Work

On the display below the reels, you’ll see a list of free spins for each bet level. This is shown on the picture below.

There are 3 coloured diamonds, which appear on reel 5. Each time you get one the number of the matching free spins multiplier goes up by one. This happens whether you win them or not.

An element of strategy is involved.

For example, if you see that the $1.60 bet has a higher number of free spins (they can reach 100+), you might choose that one instead of the $2.50 bet (or the other way around).

As the time between wins of a certain stake level gets longer, the number of free spins can get huge. I can see people playing ‘just one more’ banknote to try and hit these. While people will be patiently waiting in the wings to have a try!

Nope, it doesn’t reset. I see UltimateX multiplier hunters all the time. Many of them know how to navigate through the games super fast using the buttons rather than the touch screen. If you ever see someone sit down at a UX machine and rapidly go through each of the game variants, maybe play one hand on a variant or two and then leave, that’s what they are doing. They just troll around and look for machines with multipliers left on them. They annoy the crap out of me when they sit next to me.

I've run into people at Cosmo trying to convince me to try a different machine... Them telling me that they know which one is about to bust. I was on a Konami machine at the time... Didn't pay him any attention, mainly because people who approach you out of the blue like that are usually shady. Next time I'm calling security.
Funny, it's only happened to me at Cosmo - what the heck?

That little sticker is the lazy way out... Cosmo should be doing a better job of catching these annoying types.

Often that scam is different. They lead you to a machine that is ready to hit. So you put money in and once in a while you do hit just like any other machine. However if you win they want some of the winnings for showing you the "hot"machine. If you lose (and most times you do) they just say oh well better luck next time and they leave..

So hey invest nothing and hope you win something so you share the profits. Then they leave for a new sucker to try the same scam.

Reminds me of the "I just played that machine, you owe me" lady at the Gold Coast.
She used to be semi famous. Don't know if she's still there any more?

I feel like persistent is the incorrect word. More like a "progressive" Bonus feature. And yes if the amount of bonus spins get high enough, it can be an advantage play. "Harley Davidison is the same way. I would hope people with common sense wouldn't leave the game though.

The Ultimate X multiplier switching machines scam is a bit more subtle than these two games.

Next time we're in Vegas at the same time let's meet up, so I can do it right in front of you. :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

We have played VP together before. You aren’t the type I’m talking about because you actually play machines. These guys don’t do anything but troll the casino and only play left behind multipliers. They are annoying because they are so distracting when they come do it near you. They are kinda button slappers.

I try to not button slap when either playing or vulturing. That can definitely grate on anyone.

WOW @Chuck2009x I had no idea the free games went that high. Wife got a handpay on one at V/P at $4 max bet 45 games and she chased because she thought 45 was the max game...good thing she got it or she would have been feeding hundys into that thing until her bank roll was gone or games went up to 46

It’s a tongue in cheek notice. The bonus is the annoying person asking you to switch machines because they think your machine is getting hot.

The wife and I were having a drink at Bound in the Cromwell when I noticed a guy talking to an older women that was playing the bank of VP nearby. He was having her jump game to game and then have her switch to the other side. When they went to the other side his buddy would jump on and play off the multipliers. I mentioned it to the bartender and he called security who approached the man with the lady and you should have seen his buddy bolt.

I like to play the HL room and right outside the HL room at the Flamingo
and some jerky guy is always hitting me with - oh I'll show you where a good machine is line.
I either yell at some poor guy close to me - Honey come here this nice man wants to help us win...
which is quite funny to see them run away - or I if I'm having a bad day and don't feel like messing with them - just
tell them to f- off.......nicely of course. Jerks. That seems to be where it always happens to me. Once and awhile
at Planet Ho playing in the HL room, but usually at Flamingo. They sidle up to me and try and "help" me with a
    nice machine suggestion.
