@DockEllis Sony Rx-10! Nice. I almost owned one of those but went with the a6000. Should have stuck w the other. I steered a friend toward one and her pics blow mine out of the water. Love your shots. Now maybe I will bring mine in October!

And the winner is... The Rusty Spur. This is the kind of joint I would be a regular at back home. A dive bar for alcoholics who have their shit together but just love wasting the day away with good tunes, excellent conversation, and all around positive vibes. I may have to stop my dive bar journey after this rough gem. Gives me butterflies in my gut spending time with these people. So much love and genuine happiness in what otherwise could could be considered a depressing place.

We just cycled $60 thru the jukebox playing hard rock,
country, 80s, and blues. There’s no where else I’d rather be right now. If you spend enough time at bars during the daytime hours you get to know the distributors who bring kegs and liquor orders. Today was no exception. I should get moving soon though. Sitting here watching these guys play keno on the bartops has instilled quite the itch in my head. As an added bonus a regular gave me a keno strategy based on patterns and quadrants with a max of 7 marked numbers. I will be giving it a go later.

And now my head hurts, my feet stink, and I don't love Jesus (oh my lordy it's that...)
    It's that kinda mornin'
    Really was that kinda night
Tryin' to tell myself that my condition is improvin'
And if I don't die by Thursday I'll be roarin' Friday night

Gotta get a little orange juice
And a Darvon for my head
    I can't spend all day
    Baby layin' in the bed
I'm goin' down to Fausto's get some chocolate milk
Can't spend my life in yer sheets of silk

I've got to find my way
Crawl out and greet the day

Dock, my man, you still breathing? Hopefully you didn’t fall off into Caveman Keno hell and are still out there walking the streets partaking in spirits at all the local dives. With that bad ass camera around your neck.

It was an early morning yesterday
I was up before the dawn
And I really have enjoyed my stay
But I must be moving on

Like a king without a castle
Like a queen without a throne
    I'm an early morning lover
And I must be moving on

    Loved the Supertramp post.

I would have had quite a few of those !!!!!!!!
That was my beer, while it was distributed here, on East Coast.
    Haven't seen Olympia for years.

After spending three hours at The Rusty Spur and witnessing a shift change and a dozen or so regulars passing thru, I needed to get back to Cosmo because @notfromconcetrate was about to be done at the pool there.

I stop by Total Wine on S Las Vegas Blvd to talk to the wine specialist there about a couple bottles of red for a dinner I’m going to. I successfully picked a couple up that should fit the bill. Also got a rosé champagne.

Then it was up to my room at Cosmo for the first time. I unpacked, put on some tunes, cranked the A/C to a minimum, and relaxed on the terrace. Didn’t get a power nap in, but rested my feet and brain for a 15 minutes or so.

At this point I couldn’t take it anymore and had to get downstairs to gamble fast. We took some photos of the view from the terrace, poured a drink, and decided to hit up the High Limit gaming area at Cosmo.

We ordered two mojitos and played some $5 Double Double Bonus and watched $1300 disappear in 15 minutes. We switch machines to one the bartender says hits a lot. We load up another $1250 and start playing $25 credits or some other specialty games like caveman keno, Cleo keno, 10 times play, spin poker, TX tea 3x3, etc. Finally a hit pays $1250 so I’m up to $2000. Now I get up to $250 a spin and quickly hit for $6000. Wasn’t exactly that but I don’t remember right now. @notfromconcetrate should have the photos. I was enjoying the moment. We left that machine with $8K or so.

Then we walked to the High Limit slot room and played a lock it link piggy bank game. After losing a few hundred betting $50 a spin, I up the bet to $100 and hit the three purple bank bonus. I choose the pig card flipping game and get a massive pig in the middle that spins for $8000. There was a minor for $13k on the wheel too. So now my initial $2550 is worth $15K. I play at $50 again and play the nudging wheel free games for another $2k win. We decide to play one last game and go to a $25 wheel of fortune with a $100,000 max prize and $10,000 maximum wheel hit. I think we lost a grand or so before hitting for $2k. So now my $2550 is nearly $17,000. We go back to thank the bartender in the high limit bar and tell him without his recommendation the sequence of events would have not been the same. For better or worse, but what a run. Great start to the gambling!

Once again I didn’t take any photos but he did. We then started walking around Cosmo when he decides Greek sounds good. So we head upstairs to Estiatorio Milo’s. Essentially is seafood inspired with common Greek ingredients, you even get to pick out your own fish from a big ice wall, and you have four or five people making sure your experience is amazing. Everything was great The best items were the octopus that had great texture and flavor and the thick and very bright tatziki sauce the waiter wanted us to try as we were leaving. Their lunch menu is the way to do it, you sample a lot dishes that way.

After dinner I decided to not gamble. I stopped at my high point for the trip and wanted to ride that wave for a while. We get in a town car and go down to Mirage to check into a room while the driver waits outside on the curb. We then go to Plaza for a bit and finally start barhopping downtown. Bunkhouse Saloon for a band that already finished and Oddfellows for a deep 80s video dance party. People there were loving it, it was interesting.

Finally we went to Golden Nugget and played craps. Lost $3500 in 30 mins or so. Was a blast. Puts me up $11k for the night. Still too much left to do. Must keep moving.

Searching under tables once the bars closed down
    Said somebody stole your phone
Now there's no one to talk to but these trust fund drunks
    Should have brought a chaperon

Kick you know this life is rich
But pleasures not the same as happiness
If you don't collide with the traffic in your mind
I think you'll find your way out of this
I hope you find your way out of this

Also please keep the Tom Waits quotes coming. I can picture him on your balcony, smoking with his raspy voice saying this as you take photos.
