Is anyone able to get a current image from the web camera? I haven't seen anything fresh since Wednesday (page has indicated "Live video is currently unavailable") on the link provided above.

I figured it was just down, but now the D's facebook page (posted today) says to sign up for access to the live feed as circalasvegas.com. When I go there, it's the same landing page it's always been, no indication of a construction feed.

Having trouble sleeping with no construction updates...

In April I was here and it was just holes in the ground, a lot of progress since.

They likely were not working last week, after the 3rd, with the holiday and such. I know they have a deadline of next year but they won't start working OT until the middle of next year, I would guess. They seem to be on target for the 2020 opening now so if they can save money by not having the construction crew work weekends and holidays they will do that at the front end when there is still a cushion on time.

I don't think the camera gets paid overtime. I do think something failed with the web site and the guy that could fix it was off for the holiday weekend.

I just logged in and there was a pop up window that said the camera had been moved and when I clicked on the link it is working.

That is for the live camera. It looks like the time lapse might be gone.

Thanks. The pop up does not appear when using Firefox but does with Chrome.

Thanks for the new links. Based on their previous schedule they are behind. Structural steel was supposed to start in June and not a piece is up yet. They were working OT when I was there before the 4th. Looks like they need to ramp up concrete placement if they want to finish on time. Hope they do cause I’m already talking with my host about a room for the opening.

I haven't heard of any specifics about the resort other than the eventual number of rooms (777), and that it'll have a decent pool area and what looks like a sportsbook that'll rival the ones on the Strip. I would think that if you give the D and/or Golden Gate some play before Circa opens, that you'd get some reasonable offers.

No clue and i doubt they have decided yet. My guess would be they command the highest rates downtown and see how bookings go. If folks are willing to pay i think they might stay high. Hopefully they will continue the same good comp structure they have at the other properties. Will find out in 16 months or so.

From what I've read about Circa, it's going to be a suite-heavy hotel. People who normally stay on the Strip will be lining up for Circa and they'll charge accordingly.

When they open I'd expect to see smaller rooms starting at $150, suites starting at $250 and premium rooms with prices that only a casino host can give you (or get you into). They know they'll have an easy time filling their rooms - at least for the first 6 months after they open.

Perhaps rates will drop by about $50 per night after the first year when the hype dies down, but this will be downtown's most expensive hotel with Strip-like odds on table games and machines. So in other words I'll never stay there but I'll walk through the joint with a drink that I mixed in my much cheaper room with liquor that I brought from home while I admire the decor.

I almost forgot! Expect the now-ubiquitous resort fee to be $30 per night. That outrageous fee is a major factor that ended my love affair with Las Vegas.

777 rooms isn’t going to generate enough income to support the operation so they need the casino to be filled to capacity. That means pulling customers into the casino staying at other properties downtown.
I would think Derek Stevens is smart enough to know he can’t recreate strip gambling conditions downtown and keep those seats filled with those folks.

Downtown is just a whole different animal and truthfully there are a lot of gamblers down there simply because of the gaming conditions.
He might get some “strip folks” initially but the shine will wear off and the other casinos will not appeal to much of that clientele and they will be one and done and back to the strip.

There will also be those that stay there but go to the D and Golden Gate and earn the same comps playing better games if they’re not comparable. The Golden Gate is only what? 60 foot away and the D a couple hundred yards. It’s not like being down on the strip where it takes 30 minutes and 3 miles to go somewhere else for a better game and you just don’t have time or want to expend the effort so you play the jacked up games at the property you’re staying at.

No one was working yesterday (Saturday) and thus far nothing this morning.
Here are a variety of shots including the (?) parking garage next to plaza? I tried to keep one part of the previous pic in the next for some perspective. (Use your imagination.

I'll keep staying at 4 Queens and Boyd then. I'm not a fan of the strip or the high prices. I like downtown because it's a more affordable option and the better gambling. I love my $5 craps tables lol.
