I will believe Utah when I see them win in May. OKC stood pat which is interesting, and in the West that may have them fighting for an 8 seed.

Thunder are trying to dump salary. I doubt their current players will all be there come October

I still don't see Kawai as the game's most dominate player. YES... he had an incredible run this year, as did his supporting cast. He's been a Finals MVP on 2 teams, which is a club only he LeBron and Kareem are members of... but... I still don't get it with him.

NBA free agents moving around to try to stack teams to create a Superteam with each other sucks.

Sir Charles has this one right.

lol, yeah. Not what I expected, but also not surprised. Even though the West seemed wide open this year, its been no secret that the Thunder were determined to dump salary. Westbrook's contract is in the Chris Paul category and they couldn't get any takers for Steven Adams. So there you go. Still, five picks, an established shooter, and good young point guard is a very nice haul for George

I think I’m already regretting this comment! Good for Kawhi and good for the Clippers. Building something... draft picks are a dime a dozen now... nobody stays with Westbrook very long.

They could get lots of takers for Steven Adams if they really wanted to trade him, he's a good player with a reasonable deal. I suspect that went on hold once it was clear that PG was going to leave.

Westbrook is on the move next.

East right now - Sixers, Bucks, Pacers
West right now - Clippers, Warriors with Klay, Who knows

Two years at $25,000,000 per season. I'm not sure the majority of teams think that's a reasonable deal at this point. The best part of his contract is when it expires. If there really was that much interest in Adams, I think its pretty obvious they would have rather kept PG and traded him.

I am not sure. Still a good player, but he declined last year. His contract has three more years plus a player option at $40,000,000 and more per year. Considering they got a young guard back in the PG trade and aren't trying to contend immediately, I could see the Thunder wanting to unload him. But any takers? Maybe a team like the Knicks, who want a splashy name (and an upgrade at every position). Plus, starting next year, they could sell the Russ vs. KD in NY angle. Outside of NYC, I can't think of another team that would want him right now

Steven Adams is way underrated by the average fan because he is good at defense. He's a top 50 player, well worthy of that contract. The saber guys love him and PG (well, PG moreso, he's just incredible again.) The issue with that contract is you have to find a team that needs him, has assets to trade, and can make it work from a cap space situation, which limits the market. E.g. lots of teams are capped, and many teams like the Mavs have no need for a 3rd big guy.

PG came to the team and said he wanted out to go play with Kawhi. They traded him because he wanted to leave, and they got 2 good players, 5 1sts, and 2 pick swaps for him. That's maybe the greatest pick haul ever in the NBA, maybe all time in sports. You can't turn that down.

RWB is a nearly 31 year old point guard with a massive contract who shot 29% from 3 last year. This is not a player in the same class as PG, and NOT a player you want to be trading for. There's a ton of miles on those legs. He's heading into the Chris Paul/Blake Griffin zone of decent players with hilarious contracts.

The trade value ranking was pretty clearly

    PG

    Steven Adams

    RWB
