On this, my 16th trip to vegas, I finally wandered over to EI. $5 craps table with 10X odds means I turned $60 into $180 in about 15 minutes. That's about as good as I ever do gambling. They brew their own beer and it was $2.50 a draft. Their stout was decent, but great for $2.50! I'm a fan now.

Yup...and the restaurant is very good. Do they still have Steak Dinner with a beer for $8.99? Also heard great things about the BBQ but have yet to try it.

Yes, they do and you can get it as low as $7.99 if you sign up/use your player's card and play $5 in a slot/vp machine. You have to print all the tickets from the kiosk. It use to include a beer or root beer, but that has been dropped as of a few years ago.

Their kiosk always seems to have decent offerings. Chance at some free play after earning a reasonable amount of points. Usually some giveaways. Those golden knights shirts they gave away were real popular. There's a lot to like about EI.

This casino evokes a lot of emotional responces. You either love it or hate it. I am definitely in the “ Love it “ crowd. Great VP ,nice atmosphere , good food choices. Their $7.99 steak dinner is always #1 Vegas value on LVA list. I personally enjoy it. Quick drink service, brew pub and a block from the strip. What more could you ask for.

another vote for Ellis Island, though steak special quality has diminished a bit in my opinion. Breakfast a must! Dream about the potatoes, ask for them well done!

For my level of gambling it's a great place to frequent. I like the ribs and or chicken but the steak to me is not good, even at that price.

Do they still have the "tub" as their crap table?

I've never seen a single mention of this, but sometime in the past 6-9 months they changed their bar beer glasses, and almost certainly they hold less ounces than the old ones. Not a huge deal for me, since I have never paid for drink there, but surprised I have not seen one person mention this (not just this thread, any thread on EI).

In my 65-70 LV trips, I've only been to EI maybe ten times. Back when the steak special was about $5 a bud and I had it. It was ok for $5, but I'd rather pay $20 (at the time) and get a better steak. I'm also not partial to top sirloins. I do like the bbq and pizza though. I've had each a couple of times. Gambling was always so so there. I like craps, but not "tub" craps. I think it does have a lot to offer for some, just not much for me.

    Good Luck!

I'm not saying that it's bad, just not my taste. I like an aged steak that has some marbling and seasoned.

Many like it I just get something else off the menu.

In all my trips to LV (will be 23 as of next week), I was FINALLY able to have the ribs. Im glad they have a dedicated restaurant for them and was very very surprised by the portions, quality, sides, and of course....price.

Who has the better ribs, Binion or EI? Have had Binion a couple times in the past 2 years but has been several years since I had the ribs at EI. I thought Binions was pretty good.

I see on vpfree that they have removed most of the full pay vp. The slants back by the sports book seemed to have been removed or changed. Just one may two uprights that have 9/6 JoB. This will definitely affect my future visits. Perhaps just to eat but a little good VP usually added to the deal to make it worth visiting.

You get what you pay for, and for 7.99 it is shoe leather, but if you're satisfied with it that is all that matters.

I'm a fan. I just hope the new front yard doesn't screw it up. I'm a fan of their weiss. I've said it before and again, their med rare king cut prime rib is as good as anywhere in Vegas. Their steak special that is raved about is only ok & inconsistent, but their menu has some pretty good items. The build your own burger, country fried steak or chicken, & fried chicken work for me. It's my #1 have to go to place in Vegas. With a lot of improvements, some people have changed their minds about the low end place and like it. BUT, I like it the way it was. Myself, being selfish , people that hate it, please stay away. The people that love it can still enjoy it without the skeptical patrons that bad mouth it. ELLIS is ***** to me.

Stayed a few times at the Super 8 next to Ellis Island. It's a major dive but does have fond memories for me. 1997, Breeder's Cup, blew into town with not much money, booked at the Super 8. Walked over to Bally's and won a bundle on the races. Favorite Trick won the Juvenile and Skip Away romped in the Classic. Must have drank 20 beers. In my younger days it seemed like I could always drink more in Vegas. Anyway, Ellis Island Casino a throwback to old days. Cheap, good beers, tables with $5 minimums. Good restaurant, steak and eggs at 3 am, like $2.99—probably $7.99 now, still a good deal. Yep.
