I have looked at some maps and I can see that they are connected with a walkway but it is hard to tell how far the walk really is. Is it a long Trek? Are there any moving walkways? Can someone describe it for me? Also, if we are staying at Luxor, can we use the Mandalay Bay pool? Does anyone know?

An escalator or two, and a bunch of interesting shops and restaurants. Maybe a quarter mile, but it's easy walking. I don't believe that Luxor guests can use the MB pool.

I'm not sure about the pool, but I doubt it. However, I know that the walk to Luxor from Mandalay bay is a nice walk. It's not far, and there's shops and things to see on the way. Easy walking.

The answer for the pool question is NO.
On Mandalay Bay website under either FAQ or the pool/ cabana section, they answer this exact question. MB pool is for MB guests only.

Like others, said, no on pool. On the walk, it's super easy and indoors, and this is from someone who tends to "camp" in one casino :)

It's a short walk and Luxor and Excalibur are connected with moving walkways.

Actually Mandalay Bay allows non-guests to use their pool complex for $20 Mon-Thurs. There are some black out dates so check the MB website.

We make this walk often when staying at MB. Yea, there is a tram, but we find the walk takes about the same time since we always "just miss" the tram departure. LOL!

MB to Luxor to Excal. All inside with lots of stores and food joints. Some moving walkways.

When I was there last MB did not allow non hotel guests.
MB did check for active key cards at the point of entry to the pool.
If attempting to visit as a non hotel guest I would bring a printout of the policy just in case.

I would skip the tram unless you're going from MB to Excalibur and vice versa (take the express). The video Insin posted of the walk is useful, but the dude is a wicked slow walker. From the entrance of the shops in Mandalay Bay, it shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes to get to Luxor near Rice & Co.

It's a short, easy walk, but I've never made it without resting at RiRa Irish Pub

Honestly, I never bother with the tram.
Last time I did....I waited for the tram for what seemed like forever then it went "out of service" as we all attempted to board it.

The walkway is just about the same amount of time and it goes through the center rather than the front of the buildings.
Last time 2 of the people mover walkways were out of service and in various stages of (dis)repair.
It was very interesting getting a look at the mechanics though!

If you have mobility issues I would recommend a renting a scooter to make it easier on yourself.

Based on my last couple of trips, they are connected by walkways that occasionally move.

I stay at MB/Delano often and I would say it breaks down at least once a trip. It usually seems to be the express tram too.

They have long walkways, they move you along WAY quicker than the guy walking in that video. You'll get there quicker walking vs the tram and even get in some exercise.

Really no point in the tram unless you're coming in on the Excalibur end from outside or you just happen to be close to the Mandalay end. Otherwise it's way easier to just do the inside walk everyone's talking about. Done that walk probably the most of any in Vegas and it's not bad at all.

If your wife and/or girlfriend is with you and wearing heels take the tram.
