Nice! I have only hit one at Cosmo. We go after Christmas and I hope I can get another one from them! I pretty much only play bartops as well.

I have never had one at a bar, even though 90% of my VP play is at them. Makes me question my decision to play at them a bit, although I have probably drank a few royals worth of alcohol at them!

I've had 3 at the Tonic Sportsbar at Palms but I do play at that bar frequently. I play at lot at Cosmo Chandelier Bar but still haven't hit a Royal there.....yet.

I've had a couple of Royals at the long bar at MGM Grand (I'm not sure what it's called). My last Royal there was a $1 progressive that paid over $4,800.

Got my first ever royal on 4/6/18 in Joliet. On 4/5/19 I got my fifth royal, and third at 3535 Bar at Linq. Also had one at Harrah’s So Cal.

Had my first Royal at the old Boardwalk, on the Strip. Then hit a couple in Tunica. Due for my next in May. I can tell you for certain it will be Downtown. Probably at Fremont, 4Q, Cal, or MSS, or ideally one at each. I'll post them after.

I believe the number of royals one hits depends upon how much they play. I think it is helpful to stick with one VP bar to allow you to become as familiar as possible with how the different machines perform not on any given day or week but over a period of time.

I did very well at the Breeze and Battle Bars at TI over a decade back. One trip, I hit five progressive royals there within 24hrs of landing in Vegas. Four of them were on just two machines. I also did well at the Breeze Bar at the Beau Rivage a decade ago before they changed all of their machines. In the past ten years, I have predominately played at the Center Bar at HR Tampa and have done my best ever, even with three complete change outs in their machines over the years. I’ve hit three royals so far in 2019. The last one was Saturday. I was dealt 10,Q,J of hearts in the first three positions and the A K filled in on the draw. In the past twenty-five years, I have hit well over 100 bartop royals because I played a lot of VP and observed the machines where I have played over months and years. Good Luck everyone!

I think by virtue of how many people play bar tops, that's where you're most likely to catch a royal. I hit two royals at VP on their bartops. One at the Venetian in June '16 and one a Palazzo in September '16

This is definitely a factor, but it's still a good amount of luck in the shorter term. Here is what the royal breakdown looks like after a half a million hands if a Royal comes roughly 1 every 40,000 hands.

I think luck is a huge factor too.

Even assuming that casino random tracks mathematical odds, I think these probability charts are still more helpful to the casinos and the overall performance of their machines after many millions of games played than they are to an individual player. Has anyone’s personal experience compared to the probability expressed in a math exercise? Mine hasn’t. I have approached a million games without hitting a royal and duplicated one in 500 games. Perhaps it’s because we can walk into a casino and jump on a machine which had just hit a royal minutes earlier or it’s because the variance of the machines is so great that you can multiply the probability factor by ten. Overall, I had better experience on the second generation of VP random than I have had on the continuous shuffle programing of today. Once upon a time, I could hit four or five bonus quads within an hour. In the past ten years, I have only managed to do that once. When people say that machine VP mimics live poker, I envision the next mass shooting when a dealer in the poker room starts to reshuffle the deck after each deal. LOL I think the machines can be far kinder to a player at times and others far worse than hand dealt random.

Mathematically a machine that has just paid out a RF is just as likely to hit another as one that hasn't hit a RF in 20 years. Although sometimes it doesn't seem like it. :bang:

I agree. One old Vegas pal hit two in a row! He had to stop an attendant as she was leaving to retrieve a W2-G to write another and she wasn’t really surprised. My thought is the machines can produce so erratically that the probability factor on our individual play isn’t exactly the yellow brick road. LOL

I have hit a number of Royals at the Chicago Brew Pub bar at the Four Queens. Only play when the progressives are high enough or occasionally the 10/6 DDB (but it has a very high variance).
