    My Trip Report

OK, I'm not a self described foodie but a friend of mine is definitely one . We're going to Vegas this weekend and hopefully I can do as much food porn as slot/vp porn. He's also skeptical but curious about gambling (thinks vp is rigged) so I'm not sure how I'm going to be spending our time together when we're not eating. But we'll just have to see what happens!

    Starting agenda -
2/7 I land at night, check into CP (2 night comp)
    Probably gamble all night

    2/8 work during the day.
Check into Park MGM suite (my comp, his room)
Thinking of solo dinner at Best Friend
    Friend arrives late night.

2/9 breakfast at Flock and Fowl
    Lunch TBD
Switch from CP to Cosmo room (2 night comp)
Dinner at é by José Andres

    2/10 breakfast TBD
Friend leaves to go hang with relatives
I'll probably gamble until my flight home at 6pm

    Any suggestions?
Gambling-wise, aiming to play at CP, cosmo, Bellagio, and somewhere else.
Looking for old Aristocrat slots, volatile WMS, and maybe $1 Dragon Link.
Carrot cake at Aria Patisserie is required

I would consider Momofuku instead of Best Friend. I've heard that the food at Best Friend is "good" but not for a person that eats Korean food on a regular basis. I would recommend Hobak Korean BBQ (Chinatown) for Korean food.

Momofuku serves Pork Belly ramen all day (open until 11PM) and (IMHO) is perfect for the "late night snack".

If you're staying at CP, Mr. Chow or Beijing Noodle No. 9 if you're wanting Chinese, Rao's for Italian, Old Homestead (16 oz. bone in filet) for steak.

    Just my .02

Thanks for the reminder - I will probably use the diamond celebration dinner on Friday.

I am curious about Best Friend but I'm also motivated because of the 150fb credit with park mgm.

Aria has always been decent for gambling, since you’re around that part of the strip.

    For Park MGM, there's always Bavette's and the 16 oz. bone-in filet!!!!!:feedme::feedme::feedme:

Agreed. I live near a Ruth's Chris, so I don't eat there in Las Vegas. There are two restaurants over at MGM Grand that I might recommend.

    For Japanese food, Morimoto's
    For Chinese food, China Tang.
However, let me note that I am not a "fan" of eating Chinese (or most Asian food) food solo, because it's most often served "family style", and you either have:

1)Too Much food and much of it is wasted (or take home)
    2) You don't really get to sample the restaurant selection.

Made it in a little late but nothing terrible.
    Boy, it's chilly here!

I had reserved a Julius room but since I was arriving late, they of course moved me to the palace tower ... Supposedly an upgrade but I've never stayed at CP, so I have no idea. Room isn't bad .. At least it's nonsmoking!

Played about 3 hours on slots. Had a few fun wins but eventually spent a third of the bankroll.
I was in the forum casino - man it was freezing!!

    Time for bed!

I have many friends who think vp is rigged, particularly one in Florida. I usually reply, if that is true, why have casinos been downgrading pay tables for years? Of course some will say that casino downgrading action is just a deceitful advertising game to make vp look legit. Anyway, I hope the food is on the level and look forward to your photos. Bon appétit and bon voyage!

Got up early this morning.. I'm working on a schedule with people 2 hrs ahead, so that 9am conf call in Chicago is just brutal (esp after going to bed at 4am Vegas time!)...
Thank goodness for the Diamond/7* line at Starbucks in the CP food court.
I was eyeing a particular Wonder 4 Wheel progressive -- up to $517 for Buffalo Gold! (Starting value is $200) Chasing progressives is such a bad habit, though... sigh.

After I am done with work, need to head over to Park MGM and check into the room for my friend. Collect $150 free play and burn it all on Park MGM's ridiculously tight slots.
Will meander by Bellagio because I think they have one of the best slot floors for an MGM property. Good selection!

Gambled my way through Bellagio and park mgm, which was a major wallet suck... Finally got out of there and went to my usual stomping ground - Aria.
I always have luck with the Wonder 4 Wheel by Javier's.

My friend's flight is 40 min late, so it looks like dinner is solo at Best Friend. Very trendy inside.

I had spicy cold noodles although they went overboard with the sauce. It looks super spicy but it's not .. Just salty.
    IMG_20190208_195046.jpg

The staff were dressed in track suits - think Gossip Folks music video by Missy Elliott. I agree that if you are even remotely aware of Korean cuisine you'll be annoyed by this restaurant. Everything is a bit over the top, not even close to authentic. I realize it's a creative interpretation but it's a poor effort.

If it wasn't so damn cold out, I'd go to momofuku.
