Vs. the cost to getting to Vegas like the OP was originally asking, the cost difference is insignificant. Unless you're lucky and live close by, you're going to have to travel a good amount to play great VP at CET properties. I think Tahoe is the only place left that offers 9/6 JoB for full points. Well, except the 100-coin penny unit at Tunica Roadhouse. But you ain't getting to 7 Stars that way!

I've been 7* since before bonuses when it was 100,000 tier points to make it. Believe me when say that it was harder to make 100,000 then than it is 150,000 now. So many bonuses. As far as 10X 5,000 tier credit day, I'd be interested how that works out. Three years ago, I had about 8 or 9 5,000 tier days out of my first three trips two 3 day to AC and one 6 day to Vegas and I made it by May. So far since they had bonuses I've made 7* each year in May, as well as this year. As of now I'm at 268,000 tier and I have a short NOLA trip coming up which I might not do my usual 5/6 hours of VP. I have a set bankroll per day and I seldom go over it unless I'm close to a 5,000 and I'm trying for 7* or if I'm near 250,000. As far as bankroll I have no idea what you need. There are some days that I'm just over 2,500 and other days that I'm finishing over 5,000 with the same BR just the cards are not coming in one and are in the other.

Other than that there's really no reason to try to do 5K tier points if you're still planning on visiting the casino a couple more times. While there are a few perks, unless you have a good host you might not get much more than a high that Diamond puts in some good play. I hope you post your results.

This is the beauty of the 50 play VP machines in Lake Tahoe... it's hard to NOT earn 5,000 TCs in a day if you enjoy gambling even a little bit and you can easily do it in an hour or two if you just want to get in and get out. Of course a large loss is possible in theory, but most likely you will never need to make an "all in" decision either; I'd be surprised if you were down $10k at any point in the process and completely shocked if you needed $25k.

it sounds like tahoe is a much much better bet than vagas for making 7*, I've never been there. but it sounds like it would be a cool thing to check out :)

what are the odds that the 50 play 9/6 Job machine will be available though? you guys are talking about it like its a unicorn. id assume that its always going to be occupied

If you want to take a test on how long your BR lasts on 50 play. Here's a link to wizard of odds. You can choose your game & number of hands.
You get 10,000 credits to start. Give it a try. You'll have to figure out when you get to 5,000 tier credits.

There are at least 5 machines with 9/6 JOB... I've never had reason to look for more, usually I'm the only one playing.

Yes - you will be earning 7 stars in 10 days. You will be getting comps. You will be getting lots of attention. Hosts that used to ignore you are now your best friend.

but the theo for that is really small. my ADT is going to be like $275/day

I say 275 and not 230 because its inevitable I am going to make mistakes, and I am hoping that they will at least assume that when calculating theo

Your true ADT might be in the $200s, but that’s not how the casino sees it. You will be playing machines that have an assortment of games (JOB, BP, DDB) with various casino edges. They will assume a 1% Theo of $500

Speak for yourself :wiggle: - for us aliens who get taxed 30%+ on every win over $1199.99 Tunica sounds like a good place to spend half my life achieving 7 Stars

How does a progressive on a 1 cent machine work? Isn’t the normal payout for a royal $40? So with the progressive is it $41?

I don't recall the exact figure, but playing $50,000 through the 50-play 9-6 JoB in Tahoe yields a very low ADT. I asked for a backend comp for the Sage Room on a trip where I did two 5,000 TC days and was told to take a hike. The ADT they told me may have even been less than the expected $228...but maybe they were dividing by more days. I just remember being surprised at how low it was.

Also, I noticed that according to vpfree2, some of the good machines at Harrah's/Harveys were recently removed/downgraded. Hope this is not a bad omen.

there is still a $50 9/6 Job at Ceasars Palace in Vegas that is $10/TC according to VPfree2, is that still true?

Yes, VP is $10 per tier credit. However, be careful, sometimes on full pay machines there may be a note telling you tier credits are earned at a higher amount. I've found several in Atlantic City in the past where it takes $25 to earn 1 tier credit. You'll find out if you play $10 and your tier credit does not show up. Also free play does not earn tier credits, however anything you've won with FP will earn tier credits when run through the machine.

Just remember if you play a $50 machine you will generate lots of W-2s and stoppage of play.
My last Vegas trip the guy next to me was playing $5 10-play DDB. He kept getting Jackpots and had to play on a different machine and would come back. I was wondering what he was doing until I realized he was betting $250 every spin.

I can see how that would be annoying, at least I live in a state where they don't tax gambling winning (only have to worry about federal) but that kind of stoppage of play would be annoying
