Last year or so I have noticed something is different with my taste buds....things I used to like now not so much. I’m not sure if this just happens when you get older (just turned 45)

    Most fast food is gross
Shrimp I used to LOvE now the texture and taste is weird for me...same with most chicken for me too.
Lots of sweets seem too sweet for me.
Milk can not drink it at all anymore
    Sausage
    Creamy salad dressings (ranch....)
    Lots more......

luckily fresh veggies are still my favorite!!!

Mom & granny used to cook six days a week (Saturday was sandwiches for lunch and something on the grill for dinner). Swansons were exotic. Something different.
It's interesting how you observe things as the clock ticks. We were able to get away with very little purchased food, given that dad's idea of a "garden" was two acres. If you're not familiar with how the garden works...TWO ACRES IS GIGANTIC. We used to give away grocery sacks of stuff we'd picked but simply could not consume or preserve. Great quality food and we never gave it a thought. But that amalgam of gravy and stuff inside silver foil...yeah, we want that. Odd thing though...Mom & Dad never ate those things. "Nah. You boys go ahead, we're gonna finish these squash and 'maters." :p

To the OP: fish sticks. We used to get these every Friday in elementary school. Now. Not sure I could get one down.

General Tso's chicken - that used to be my Chinese food go-to until food poisoning. I will literally cramp up at just the sight of it.

Growing up, when you went to the mall, Panda Express was the place to eat. When you ate there, it seemed Orange Chicken was the thing to eat. Now that I'm older, i don't taste any chicken and only hard batter dipped in sweet sauce. I mean come on.

Call me crazy but i will never give up poor mans ramen. I haven't had it in a while but once it's in front of me, nostalgia hits and I'm cooking it and dropping an egg in it.

Nothing comes to mind that specifically matches the OP's topic, but I can't stand a garbanzo bean in the same area-code! Ughhhhh... I hate 'em... and people need to quit trying to get me to choke down hummus! I know there's garlic and other flavorings in there, but there's also garbanzo beans!!!!

PS... and it doesn't fool me to call them Chick Peas!!!

I have one item that is the opposite for this topic. Pizza. My first memory of being around it was in late grade school. A home Ec class (showing my age here:D) was making some. The aroma so nauseated me I almost barfed on the spot (I suspect the cheese they used caused this). I could not stand to be around pizza for many years after that. I don't know what changed as I got older, but it started to small good to me and I like it now, but keep it simple, just meat toppings I have never liked mushrooms or anchovies. Peppers don't like me.

Have you ever heard Lewis Black's rant on candy corn? It's hilarious and my wife and I reference it all the time when we do/eat something we forgot we hated:

I used to love bananas when I was a kid. Then one day, I was eating a banana, and suddenly threw up. I swore I would never eat another banana as long as I lived. And I haven't. That was 1962.

    I can hold a grudge.

    Peaches, or anything peach flavored!

Back in my high school days (um, I mean college days), I was hooked on wine coolers. I got myself a 4 pack of B&J (some sort of berry flavor), and my friend got a pack of peach flavored wine coolers (don't remember if it was B&J or something else), along with a bottle of wine. He drank one of the peach coolers, but then proceeded to focus on the wine. I downed all four of my coolers and was pretty buzzed. He didn't want the rest of his coolers, and I was still "thirsty", so I proceeded to down the final three peach coolers. A little later, we picked up a couple other friends and were cruising around the outskirts of downtown Chicago (my friend was a much better driver when he was drunk), and I started feeling sick. He quickly pulled into what he thought was an alley, and I proceeded to double over and get rid of everything I had just drank. My throat and nose were burning, and all I could taste was peach!!!! (As it turned out, we were in someone's driveway! LOL!) I was sick the rest of the night and the next morning, and no matter what I did, I could not get rid of that peach taste!

Ever since then, whenever I smell anything peach scented (including actual peaches), I get nauseous and remember that crazy night!
