    Hello everyone,

A few on my guests at this point have directed me here and said kind things about me and so i thought i would sign up and say hi.

I am a casino host in downtown Las Vegas, working both at The D and The Golden Gate, soon to add The 18 to the mix. I have lived a year or more in 18 states and 3 countries. I am both a gambler and a regular gamer though i myself cannot afford to be at a hosted level. I have been a host for multiple casinos and have about 7 years in the industry as a host or inside sales.

I am currently building a book from scratch so if you consider yourself a good player, lets talk about it. It is my pleasure to meet and talk with you all and read your questions and comments in this forum.

    Executive Host

Welcome Tim - Thank you for your post on my thread too!

I love visiting downtown and have my first hotel stay all booked on my upcoming trip! Can't wait. The new 18 is definitely one to watch and I look forward to seeing more about it as it progresses. :)

    Welcome Tim.
Gotta ask....did the volume level for the music inside The D fall off and no one can find it???:wink2::whistle:
When downtown my wife and I can only go inside a few minutes.
I played Craps there once and between the music and "new" dealers I actually lost money because they couldn't hear what I was saying and making wrong bets.
As anyone officially commented to The D about it?
I don't mean to bombard you within your first thread but I am curious to know. Thanks for any response.

I have heard some chatter about the loudness.. < barely > .. That's humor implying it was so loud i could hardly hear it.

To your question however. The volume is down from last year, and the respondents about volume level have gotten to a point that the casino is comfortable with. In true form its one of those " you asked and we did " scenarios. Currently the D believes the volume is acceptable but certainly like last time, I am certain that if there are more vocal people it could come down again.

I hope that speaks to both the question and the intention of current cooperate remedy.

    Welcome to the board, Timothy.
I like the Golden Gate. Have been staying there for a couple of nights on trips for years. The D, well, it's too loud for craps so I just kinda walk through just to see the place but I don't stay. I, also, don't play too much at the Golden Gate because they don't have good video poker tables whereas so many other properties downtown DO have good video poker tables. No reason not to have games paying out better than 99% at the $.25 level. Where's the 9/6 JoB?
They did do a great job rehabbing the Golden Gate and the D and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the final product at 18 Fremont. Love what the owner is doing for downtown.

Did you see the High Limit they put in at GG? Even if i didn't work here i would rave about it. Classy is what i consider it. Wood, Dark, ornate with out being gaudy. It's everything i like in a high limit. They have .25 Video Poker put i haven't checked the payouts yet really.

You and i know the industry is rolling back on video poker, quite unfairly i might say. I haven't had an opportunity to talk with floor yet concerning the future of VP at the properties. I want to show my value before i start picking things apart to improve.

    Welcome to VMB!

I usually get room offers feom golden gate but I primarily video poker and some slots. I usually stay else where due to the vp options at your neighbors but I do like the tables at GG SO that is where I do my table play downtown.

I love the property, and the D.

Ok well then the 10th. I arrive at night on the 9th. I usually do my table play when the dancing dealers start but I'll be around to say hello.

    Welcome Tim!
Next time I go Downtown I may come to say Hello.
if the music volume is not too loud anymore, I might even play there.

Welcome Tim! You've already shared some wonderful posts, and we are happy to have you!

This is a great board, and you'll find it has some hardcore downtown LV lovers, with many solid, solid players.

Since you said you might be looking to expand your player's book....you might check out some of the Boyd BConnected strings. Lots of great players with 10, 15, 20+ years of a relationship (at solid levels) who might be in the market for a new landing pad....

Welcome to the board, and we are glad to have you!
