I also ran an "unadvertised test" where I offered free $100 bills to anyone who knocked on my door yesterday. No one took me up on my offer, therefore, people don't care about free money.

I asked in another thread if anyone heard anything about this test. I'm an affiliate and nobody told me to advertise it. I consume a decent amount of Vegas news and I can't recall seeing anything. I also can't remember anyone here reporting back that they were surprised to get for parking at Linq. Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

This is just silly. If they're gonna charge for parking fees, then they should just charge. If they're gonna give reasons for why they charge, chalk it up to the costs of maintaining the parking garage or the overflow of parking from those who aren't staying at or visiting the resort or whatever.

Don't try to pretend like customers don't prefer "free" over "paid." Now they're just insulting our intelligence.

I love how they've reframed it. Free parking is merely an "experiment" that they "stopped" because they were "losing money".

Yeah, and people love the convenience and value of Resort Fees too! Yeah, right!

People "do" mind...but many are going to a specific location and want to park there.

This is one of the craziest bean-counter driven pointless "tests" I have ever seen.

It is amazing how two major corporations try to convince consumers that we are okay with something that no one really favors if given a fair choice.

How about making two lanes at the same garage with good signage--one free parking, one parking for whatever fee--and see how the "vote" goes? How about giving guests a choice of resort fees or not at check-in and see how that vote goes?

Over-educated buffoons. There are some in most large corporations...

They ought to do another test and put up a big banner on the side of the building that says something like 'FREE PARKING. Then see if they get different test results.

People drive in vegas? They are so off the grid here.
But as mentioned in another thread, you have to swipe at the kiosk to activate a multiplier at boyd. Some do not realize this step is necessary and play only to discover they are not receiving the offer that brought them in. Based on the parking theory, those people just don’t want the multipliers so why are they offered? :bang:

So, if they didn't advertise this, how do we know that they actually did this? I don,t trust them.:hmmm:

I bet anyone who parked in Linq during the 30 day trial thought it was a mistake that the barriers were up (or however they did it) so kept quiet hoping no-one would notice...

If they'd continued the trial but actually advertised the fact (even make an anonymous tip to somewhere like Vital Vegas as he'll print any old rumour (j/k I'm a big fan of the site)) and then noticed no extra traffic then that would be a worthwhile experiment.

I hate the Linq parking garage, I wouldn't park there for free. You could be stuck there if it rains or if the traffic is bad. It took me over an hour to get out of there once due to traffic.

I too would not ever park at The Linq. It is known for flooding and I once had a valet person at the Flamingo to never park at the Linq because of too many break-ins.

Good point. I wonder if this "test" happened during the couple of days the parking lot was flooded due to rains. :rolleyes2:

If you pull around back of Planet Hollywood like you are going to the rear of Miracle mile on the Ellis side, parking is still free, at least as of this post.
