    My Trip Report

So many trip reports right now, it's nuts, isn't it?

This should be a fairly typical trip, lots of concentrated gambling sessions with a couple of scheduled things and a few unscheduled things and a little Hasselhoffing. It's so hot and humid here right now (Boston) it doesn't pay to get all jacked up yet, but I'm psyched.
    • 2 nights at TI with $450 freeplay. I have a room on the top floor, hoping to get a room in the wing that faces down the Strip. Still auditioning TI vs Palazzo to see who's going to replace MGM properties. MGM has to stop sending me offers first, lol.
    • 4 nights at Bellagio in a Tower King Fountain View (if I get it), this should be the ~625 SF corner room at the end of the hall. $50 or $100 freeplay, not sure which, and $50 RC. Plan to micro-roll at the B.
    • 4 nights at Cosmo in a Terrace Suite with $325 freeplay and $100 dining credit. I think I should be able to get an unrenovated Terrace Suite in the mid-20's that still has the big fridge and sink and nuke.
    • 6 nights at PH in a regular Hip room, I'm gonna try to see if I can get on the ph2 floor again, it was soooo chill. $100 FP and $50 RC.

M & G and group slot pull at Venetian on the 5th, should be great.

Only other reservations are dinner at Capo's Speakeasy and "O" at Bellagio. Have a couple of meetups for drinks penciled in with a couple of members and plan to "run into" a couple others.

Food porn isn't my thing, but hopefully lots of slot pics and vids and I'm going to try to take more general walking around pics this trip.

JetBlue non-stop out of Boston on the 4th. I had a Southwest flight booked forever, but it didn't get in until 2:00pm. Then I moved it to noon. Then the JetBlue flight dropped to $198 base fare, which isn't as low as it can get, but it's a price I'll pay, so I booked it. Then two days later, the Mint price dropped to $498.

With baggage fees and Extra Space, I'm into JetBlue for $360 anyway so another $140 was worth it. I didn't think I could upgrade without a fee so I wasn't going to bother, but I called Sunday and they did it. None of the "suite" seats was available, but that's OK, it still makes the time go by much faster.

My flight's been running only about 5 hrs in the air the last week and on the ground at 8:30am-ish. Which means I should be checked in at TI and standing in CVS with a bottle of Bacardi by 10:30 and playing drunk craps by noon. :drunk:

    LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!

Would you happen to know if unrenovated suites with fountain views and fridge/sink in the Chelsea tower might still be available?
Asking for a friend who will be there in a couple of weeks or so. Mid-twenties is perfect for us...I mean a friend.

Have a great time! Good to know about the Jetblue flexibility about upgrading to Mint. It's gone down in price on my fly in day too, maybe I'll inquire.

Take lots of pictures of TI if you can, I miss that place!

Can't have too many trip reports, and I know a great one is about to begin!

Gotta ask you @Chuck2009x - you mention you're not a High Roller, but those are some pretty cool room types and suites! You must have a list of where all the best rooms are at each resort. How do you get specific room numbers and corners? And thats a bunch of freeplay! C'mom spill the beans!

    Rooting for you! :thumbsup::woohoo:

My seatbelt is ON!!!!! I can't wait to live vicariously through you @Chuck2009x , and I hope you have a blast.

I love, love, love when you go from your utterly refined, debonair Cary Grant mode, enjoying your time people-watching in the "Porte Cochere," to your handful mode---with Fireball shots, dropping angry Bostonian potty words over sports, to attacking resistant Q-Tip containers....then back to being so gracious and classy when a nasty, honorless troll tries to bleed your misplaced TITO dry.

You are one of the KINGS of VMB dichotomies....and I can't wait to see what this trip's adventure will hold.

Most of all though, I hope you have a BLAST Chuck....to one of VMB'S most interesting, uber-brainy, savvy, classy, and FUN people.

Seat belt is on, and popcorn is in lap...let's ROLL with this TR!:woohoo:

I will be crawling around on the floor looking for crumbs at some point. They'll be cookie crumbs, not coke crumbs, but the principle is the same.

    Thanks!

    Thank you...

I was surprised both times. The first time I got charged less of a change fee than I expected, and this time they didn't charge me anything to outright cancel my original, 7 days after I booked it and 3 days before the flight. The original was booked with points and cash for Extra Space. I didn't have enough points to cover the whole Mint fare, so I thought I was out of luck. And I was only going to switch if I could do it with no fees at all. But they did it. Cancelled and rebooked with cash. $398 last time, $498 this time.

I'll try to get some TI pics. Security busted me last time when I was doing a video of a slot bonus so they seem a little touchy, but we'll see.

It's because we bring such child-like joy and sunny optimism with us to Las Vegas, right?

    Thanks, see you Thursday!

    I'm gonna DO MY JOB.

Thank you. I had a host assigned to me for this trip, I don't know if I'll meet her or not.

    Thanks!

    Deal.

    Yeah buddy!

    Thank you...

I'll find out for sure on Tuesday. About a month ago I heard they were still working on the 40's floors. I'm expecting to be able to get something in the 20's. I don't think they are ripping everything out way in advance of doing the work.
