I just figured out how I will game the system. I'll take my Diamond and do a tier match with Hard Rock. Then, I will take that Rock Royalty and get black with Oceans. Free casino stays and I can low play them all :)

JK, I'll probably gamble it all because I always do :(

    Ugh. So jealous!

Headed to St. Louis - hoping to maybe get one casino day in over the super long weekend.

Just upgraded at Hard Rock. Lines were crazy long but I was lucky and was able to skip the lines when a few of us talked to one of the execs and he brought us to a short line. I’m Gold with Mlife and was given the top card Rock Royalty, $150 free play and $80 in comps. I need to ask about the free rooms and free entry to buffet or Rock Royalty lounge. The resort is beautiful, totally different than when it was the Taj, much brighter. Already won some money so I’m happy!

So I noticed one of their “perks” for elite cardholders is “complimentary tickets to select shows.”

Does anyone know or have insight as to what shows are available and how to take advantage of this? There are tons of shows I’d love to see this summer and bonus points if tickets are comped.

I live in South Jersey and I think every radio station from Philly was broadcasting from the Hard Rock today for the grand opening. I’ve lived my whole life in this area and I’ve never seen an advertising/ promotion campaign from a casino like hard rock is putting out. They are definitely trying to pull every customer they can into the new joint.

I’ll be stopping in at some point this week. I’ll try to get some updates for everyone on things like table play and odds.

So, I was at the Hard Rock. Luckily, I was in AC on Wednesday, a day before the Grand Opening and thought I'd walk down the boardwalk just to see if I could get into Hard Rock and Oceans. And yes, yes I can. They were both open and running. There were 8 people ahead of me at the card center. (When I was there on Thursday grand opening, the line was literally hundreds of people long. No shit, the longest line I've ever seen in a casino for anything.) I was able to match my CET-diamond/MGM-gold card to their Rock Royalty level (top tier). Sweet.

The bonus was $150 in free play, $80 in comps, 2 nights (even weekends when the rates are over $400/Sat nt) comped, no resort fees, free access into their player's lounge, and some other minor perks. I forgot about the coke/pepsi thing because I don't drink soda and the place was just crazy so my mind was not concentrating. I did notice that they serve a better class of booze than CET in their player's lounge: They had a single malt scotch, McCallan, and they serve Johnny Walker Black instead of CET's Johnny Walker Red. Mmm, single malt. The food spread, while decent, wasn't as good as CET's. Set your priorities.

I then went to Ocean's (Revel). Little had to be done with this casino because it was left in pristine condition...unlike the Taj which was rotting away the last couple of years. They matched my Rock Royalty card for their top tier Black card and offered me only $25 free play. That's it. And here's what's clutch if you're coming into town. Ocean's will not upgrade CET-diamond or MGM-gold to their top level black card, but they will upgrade the Rock Royalty card to it...so you have to go to Hard Rock first and then take that card to Oceans for their upgrade. Working the system.;)

Both casinos are gorgeous. Hard Rock is a huge complex and on par with Borgata or any upper level Strip property. Oceans, while just as nice, is smaller and has less auxiliary businesses like shopping and restaurants. Both have great ventilation systems and brand new chips! Went back to Caesars where my car was parked and the place stunk of cigarettes and had a sheen of filthiness that just confirmed the fact that CET better do some overhauling to their 3 casinos in AC or they're in for a big shock. (But, I did hit a $.25 royal progressive at Caesars for $2,380 so that was sweet.)

@smerrian, thanks for the report and congrats on the progressive win! I agree, I think the Caesars/Bally’s complex will be in for a rough patch once those summer winds stop blowin’ in from across the sea. Hopefully with the bankruptcy and subsequent transfer of these properties into the VICI real estate investment trust that the values were based on market conditions, and the monthly lease payments won’t choke CET. I think Harrah’s will be fine.

It sure is an exciting time and I hope that a rising tide lifts all boats, but am reminded that Warren Buffet said “you only find out who’s swimming naked when the tide goes out.”

Here is a screenshot from Hard Rock’s website which shows the tier level needed to get Rock Royalty. So do need to address you as Prince, King, or Duke now?

@smerrian Congrats on the progressive and thanks for all of the info! By any chance did you check out VP paytables at either HR or Oceans?

    First off, awesome win!

I have fingers and toes crossed that they will still offer the $80 in comps in 2 1/2 weeks, as that was not touted before hand. And you did absolutely the right thing with your matching "trajectory".

I will say one bummer on conditions there is I don't like the 5X or bust odds on craps. V/P apparently isn't great, but not horrible. I feel like it'll be a carnival property for my play, and I'm fine with that. At Aria last month, and on the Strip in general, I stuck to slots and actually enjoyed myself. When I got Downtown, I let loose on the tables, and barely played slots. We'll see how it goes.

GOSH Darnit! Not only do you make me want to switch my reservation away from Caesars, but you also took my royal!!!! Luckily I'm staying in the Centurion tower with a water view, so hopefully that will help.

I'm pretty sure this is only for Hard Rock AC. Do HR Vegas and HR AC even use the same program? If so, you could theoretically make a quick trip to AC to status match and then use that status in LV. (Not that I'm encouraging ridiculous travel planning and/or general degeneracy or anything.)

You will be fine! They have been promoting it "Through the end of summer". I like that its actually $80 in comps, since the original wording was "Two free buffets" Buffets are only $12.50 at Borgata, I'd rather eat there and then have $80 to shop with in the gift shop at HR.

At least I hope that it works that way
